Abstract

PURPOSE:To assign a processing request to a computer in which the sum of a processing waiting time and a communication delay time is minimized among computers possible for assignment, by providing a processing assignment device which determines that which computer is suitable to be assigned to each processing request. CONSTITUTION:A processing request given from a computer or the like is transmitted to a processing assignment device 1. The device 1 first temporarily stores the arrived processing request in buffer memories 16. A processing request analyzer 17 reads out the content with the highest processing request priority among the buffers 16 and transfers a program name, a file name and a discrimination symbol to be addressed required for the execution of the processing request to a retrieval device 19 of an assignable computer. The device 19 retrieves the discriminating symbol of a computer entirely provided with the program name and the file name transferred from a directory 18. When a plurality of computers satisfying the existing conditions, a computer in which the sum of the estimated values of the communication delay time and the waiting time of computer is minimized is determined by using a waiting time computer 13 and a communication delay time processor 7.
