Abstract
PURPOSE:To give vibration damping effect to a seal ring, by providing a plurality of leaf springs on the outer circumference of the sealing. CONSTITUTION:Each of the leaf springs 6 fixed on the outer circumference of a seal ring 1 has a projection 6A that is kept and held in a groove 2A formed in a retainer 2 in order to keep its position during operation. As a result, vibration in the normal direction to the shaft axis can be damped while the seal ring 1 can operate in such a condition as not to touch a shaft sleeve 4 even when a rotation speed is low and passing water volume is small, possibly resulting in hardness of formation of water membrane in a small gap between the seal ring 1 and the shaft sleeve 4, because the ring 1 is set in such a condition as being floated by the leaf spring 6.
