CONSTITUTION:A groove is formed in the surface of the body of a heat exchanger tube 13 in an axial direction of the same, and the groove has discontinuous portion 14 where projections 11 and recesses 12 of the groove are interchanged alternately. Since, whith such an arrangement, liquid l0 to be evaporated, flowing down along a recess 12 can be suppiled forcibly to a projection to a projection 11 located downstreams of the recess 12 and so-called ''dry-out'' can be prevented positively, transmission of heat can be promoted in case that the amount of the liquid 10 to be evaporated is relatively small.
