Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high heat transmission promoting effect by providing those portions tin a groove formed in the surface of a heat exchanger tube in an axial direction of the same where a projection and a recess of the groove are connected discontinuously, so that liquid to be evaporated, introduced into recesses of the groove, can be carried forcibly up to the projections of the groove. CONSTITUTION:A groove is formed in the surface of the body of a heat exchanger tube 13 in an axial direction of the same, and the groove has discontinuous portion 14 where projections 11 and recesses 12 of the groove are interchanged alternately. Since, whith such an arrangement, liquid l0 to be evaporated, flowing down along a recess 12 can be suppiled forcibly to a projection to a projection 11 located downstreams of the recess 12 and so-called ''dry-out'' can be prevented positively, transmission of heat can be promoted in case that the amount of the liquid 10 to be evaporated is relatively small.
