Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent vibration of a tire on a good road and remove a muddy state of the tire on the soft ground, by arranging herringbone lugs, left right alternately located at an acute angle diagonally with the equator, in both side areas of a pneumatic tire tread and arranging independent blocks, interposed with a separating groove, crossing the equator in the central area. CONSTITUTION:Diagonal lugs 2, 3, whose centers j-j, k-k cross at acute angles alpha, beta of 30-60deg. with the equator, are arranged in both side areas B, B of a tread in a state of interposing main grooves 4, 5 further left right alternate arangement. Further in the central area A, one end 61 of a long narrow independent block 6 is protrusively provide on an extension almost longitudinally of one lug 2 by interposing a relatively narrow separating groove 7. While the other end 62 is aligned to one side wall 8 of the lug 3 and provided with a separating groove 9 between the block and the lug 3. Each independent block 6 is overlapped at a face-to-face position by interposing a separating groove 10. In this constitution, mud, even if jammed on the soft ground, can be pressed out by cooperative action of the lug and the block to prevent a muddy state.
