Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the automatization of the title apparatus by a method wherein the temperature of feedwater is measured every predetermined time interval during the time from the initiation of supply of the feedwater to the stoppage thereof and the mean value of the measured temperatures is used for operating the apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A valve 17 and a temperature sensor 23 are attached to a water supply pipe 18 leading to a cistern 19 which is in communication with a circulation pipe 9 and generates a signal to a controler 24. When a feedwater quantity setting device, a water filling rate setting device, a combustion amount indicator and a temperature setting device of a remote controller 25 are set to start the automatic operation of the bath apparatus, the controller 24 stores the temperature to outside the bath room through a signal from the sensor 23 so that the valve 17 is opened to start a supply of the feedwater. After that, the controller 24 stores the temperatures t1, t2...tn of the feedwater measured every predetermined time interval, a feedwater supply time is determined on the base of the time lapsed from the ON-operation of a dry burning preventive switch 14 up to the ignition of a burner 7 through an ignition device 12 and a gas valve 21, the supply of the feedwater is stopped after the feedwater supply time expires and the combustion time expressed by the following equation is operated to thereby burn the apparatus: TB=f(t0).{ts-(t1+...+tn)/n}.V.f(Kw)/Q wherein f(t) designates an open air temperature compensation coefficient, Ts designates a set temperature value, V designates a feedwater quantity set value, f(Kw) designates a feedwater quantity correcting coefficient and Q designates a combustion amount set value, respectivly.
