Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a buffer function by keeping high hardness of an elastic member disposed on the side of a sprocket, and forming a space near the frictional slide surface of the elastic member in such a manner as to be deformed easily. CONSTITUTION:Circular steps 8 are mounted on both side surface of a sprocket 1, and circular elastic members 9 are supported by a circular bottom wall 8A and a side wall 8B. The outside diameter of the elastic member 9 is larger than the envelope of a root side edge portion 4A of an inside link plate 4 of a roller chain 12 wrapped round the sprocket 1, that is, a large outside diameter link plate. The hardness of the elastic member 9 is set comparatively high, and a space 11 is formed near the surface slidably contacting the inside link plate 4, whereby the elastic member can be deformed easily.
