Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent soiling owing to the toner of a photosensitive drum by spacing a developing roll from the drum cooperatively with the rotation of the drum and allowing a cleaning member to contact with the drum, in a cleaning process. CONSTITUTION:During a developing process, a developing roll 2 is allowed to contact wih a photosensitive drum 1 and a cleaning member 3 is spaced from the drum 1 cooperatively with the rotation of the drum. Further, during a cleaning stage, the roll 2 is spaced from the drum 1 and the member 3 is allowed to contact with the drum 1. Thereby, the earing of the magnetic brush on the roller 2 is kept low and is prevented from contacting the drum 1 during the cleaning stage with the simple mechanism.
