Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a highly reliable and flexible system by composing the system of N units of microcomputers and one stand-by microcomputer with the same hardware and then by using this stand-by computer for backing up a troubled computer. CONSTITUTION:In-use microcomputers M1-MN and a stand-by microcomputer SC with the same hardware are coupled with respective input and output circuits PI/O1-PI/ON via a transmission line 11. Those computers M1-MN, and circuits PI/O1-PI/ON are coordinated by a transmission line control circuit BC and input and output control circuits S1-SN. If one microcomputer is made out of order, the program and data of the computer are transferred from a data file memory 10 to the stand-by computer SC, exercising back-up control.
