Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled composition that is produced by adding glass fiber and aluminum-coated glass fiber to a thermoplastic polyester, thus being suitably used for gears in electric and audio appliances, because it shows good antistatic properties and high impact strength without reduction in electircal insulation.
CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic polyester, preferably polyethylene terephthalate, is combined with (A) glass fiber, preferably of 5W20μ average diameter and longer than 0.2mm average length, and (B) glass fiber coated with aluminum on the surface, preferably of less than 50μ average diameter and less than 50mm average length wherein the proportion of components (A)+(B) is 3W70wt%, preferably 10W 50wt% based on the resultant composition and the ratio of B/(A+B) is 5W90%, preferably 20W80%. Further, the addition of integral antistatic agent remarkably increases the antistatic effect.
