Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled fiber that is composed of a specific structure containing 3 different kinds of polymers which have different crimping properties from one another, thus keeping good crimping effect for a long time and being suitably used in carpets, blankets and stockings.
CONSTITUTION: The objective fiber mainly consists of ternary components, polymers A, B and C, where two components are connected to each other exentrically or side-by-side through the third component or directly. Among three combinations of two components, two or more combinations develop defferent shrinkage where at least one develops shrinkage or increases shrinkage by stretching and relaxing and at least one of the others by heat or moisture. The examples of polymers A, B and C are polyethylene terephthalate (A), polybutylene terephthalate (B) and PET copolymer containing sulfoisophthalic acid (C).
