Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high-density image having a pure black tone with no reduction in the sensitivity and inhibited fog by adding a specified disulfide compound to a heat developing photosensitive material singly or together with a heavy metallic salt so as to inhibit heat fog. CONSTITUTION:A disulfide compound represented by formule I (where Z is a thazole ring, an oxazole ring, an imidazole ring, a selenazole ring, a triazole ring or a tetrazole ring or a group of nonmetallic atoms required to complete a thiazole ring and each ring may be substituted) is added to a photosensitive material having a single layer or multiple layers formed with a heat developing photosensitive element consisting of an oxidation-reduction image forming component composed of a reducible org. silver salt such as silver behenate and a reducing agent, photosensitive silver halide or a component forming the halide, and a binder. By adding the disulfide compound in combination with a small amount of mercuric acetate or the like, the heat fog inhibiting effect is shown synergistically, and a superior image is obtd.
