Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent clearance leak at the end of a vane by installing more than one section having the radius of curvature approximately identical to the outside diameter of rotor along the inner peripheral surface of a cylinder over a vane's pitch angle of 50% and greater.
CONSTITUTION: The inner surface of a cylinder 5 consists of two arcs having radius R1 and R2. This radius R2 is made larger than the outside radius R of a rotor 7 by 0.01W0.02mm. The range α of arc formation is equalized with the pitch angle of a vane 8 in a rotating direction from the rear side of a discharge port 6. This construction eliminates the generatin of space between a cylinder 5 and a rotor 7 which was hitherto observed. The gas leaked from a clearance T is filled into the space sealed by a sliding vane 8b and equalized with the discharge pressure, thereby preventing further leakage. Therefore, clearance leakage can be prevented in this manner.
