Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit high speed printing with a power supply of small capacity by a device wherein heating dots are divided into several groups, the number of heating dots are counted for each group, and all dots belonging to one or more groups are caused to heat provided that the number of dots locates within the allowable number for a provided power supply. CONSTITUTION:In case where printing heads having dots of 320 in total are driven by a power supply capable of heating 32 dots simultaneously, for example, when feeding power to the total 35 dots comprising 20 dots from dots H11-111m in the first group of ten groups obtained by dividing all of the dots, 10 dots from dots H21-H2m in the second group, and 5 dots from heating dots H31-H3m in the third group, a signal G is not output from a 32-digit counter CP3 with a first signal F and an output signal Q1 is ranked to the highest order. Similarly, with a second signal F an output signal Q2 is ranked to the highest order.
