The device allows these mail items that have been conveyed along the board surface to pass through as is, while those that have been conveyed in a floating or tilted state from the board surface are sent along the board surface. put out. However, with conventional alignment devices, there are various drawbacks such as belt dislocation, damage to mail, and jamming due to items that are short, bent, or not completely glued. Although many attempts have been made, a perfect alignment device has not been achieved. An example of a conventional alignment device will be described below.

However, since the height at the entrance is high for mail items 8 that are not completely glued, bent mail items 9, and mail items 10 that are low in height, the inclined endless belt I
The mail is not completely caught between the rollers 2b and 2d of the alignment device, and is fed in in a state where it protrudes from the conveyance surface and gets caught up in the rollers 2b and 2d at the exit of the alignment device, causing problems such as belt slippage, damage to the mail, and clogging.

Since the entrance side of the mailbox is located higher, it has the disadvantage that mail is more likely to get caught in the mail. In addition, in order to obtain a large alignment amount with a small roller inclination, alignment devices must be arranged in two stages and three stages in series, resulting in the disadvantage that the entire device becomes large. The present invention aims to eliminate the above-mentioned problems under the current situation, and will be described below with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4, which are one embodiment of the present invention.

4a is conveyed as it is, mail 24b is conveyed in a raised position, and mail 524c is conveyed tilted by alignment rollers 11a, 11b, which are arranged at an angle.
... While passing between rollers 11g and 11h, it is pressed against the endless belt 16 side and aligned. In addition, if mail is transported that is thicker than the distance between the alignment rollers 11a, 11b, . . . 11g, 11h, the link mechanism adjusts the distance between the rollers according to the thickness of the mail. The mail is pushed out, and the mail is neatly arranged and sent out.
According to the present invention, as with a belt-based alignment device, mail items of low height, bent mail items, mail items that are not completely glued, etc. protrude from the conveying surface and are not caught in the belt. Since there is no place to do so, there will be no problems such as mail clogging or belt slipping.

... Even if the inclinations of 11g and 11h are increased, the mail can be conveyed under the same conditions from the entrance to the exit of the alignment device, so even low-height mail can be smoothly aligned, and the belt can be easily aligned. Since there is no need to arrange two or three stages in series like in the alignment device used, a large amount of alignment can be obtained over a short distance, which has the advantage that the entire device can be made smaller. Although the above example describes an example in which the alignment rollers are opposed to each other, it is clear that similar results can be obtained even if they are arranged in a staggered manner.

The distance between the rollers may be forcibly adjusted by a driving device. Also, the material of the roller may be made of rubber or sponge-like material with elasticity or compression properties to avoid changes in the thickness of mail items. , cards, stock certificates, etc., there is no need for a link mechanism. As described above, the present invention is capable of handling paper sheets of various shapes and sizes without causing problems such as belt slippage or clogging, and even with a large amount of alignment, the paper sheets can be reliably aligned within a short distance. Moreover, this method has an extremely excellent effect in reducing the size of the device.
