Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition having excellent lightweightness, mechanical properties, moldability, and retentivity of electromagnetic wave shielding ability, by mixing a specified polycarbonate alloy resin with stainless steel fibers, a brominated flame retardant, and Sb2O3. CONSTITUTION:50-90pts.wt., preferably 60-80pts.wt., aromatic polycarbonate resin [e.g., poly-2,2-bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane carbonate] is mixed with 10-50 pts.wt., preferably 20-40pts.wt., ABS resin to give a polycarbonate alloy resin (a). 100pts.wt. component (a) is then mixed with 4-50pts.wt, preferably 6-40pts. wt., stainless steel fibers (b) having a diameter of 3-10mum and a length of 1-10mm, 10-50pts.wt., preferably 15-40pts.wt., brominated flame retardant (c) (e.g., octabromodiphenyl oxide) having a melting or softening point of 220 deg.C or lower, and 0.5-15pts.wt., preferably 1-10pts.wt., Sb2O3 (d) having a mean particle diameter of 1.0mum or smaller.
