Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an effective differential pressure seal without having the possibility of deteriorating product quality by disposing a single guide roll on which a long-sized thin strip is wound to a boundary having a pressure difference and further, providing a sealing attachment enclosing this roll. CONSTITUTION:The long-sized thin strip 1 is continuously passed through differential pressure chambers 4-6 via rolls 8, 9, etc., and is treated while the pressure difference is maintained. The single guide roll 2 is disposed to the boundary of the differential pressure casing 7 of the above-mentioned differential pressure chambers 4... and the long-sized strip 1 is wound around this roll and is thereby guided. Furthermore, the sealing attachment 3 enclosing the strip 1 with a slit (t) is disposed. A part on one of the opposed surfaces of this attachment 3 is formed to the shape conforming to the thin strip surface on the roll 2 and is disposed in proximity to the roll. A part on the other side is formed to the shape conforming to the outside circumference of the roll 2 and is disposed in proximity to the roll. The side faces of the two opposed parts mentioned above are so connected as to nearly maintain airtightness. The effective differential pressure seal is thus obtd. without having the possibility of deteriorating the quality of the strip 1 and generating crack, etc., thereof.
