Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the response of display of a large-screen display panel, having many pixels, apparently fast and lower the power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A scanning-line electrode address signal sent to a scanning electrode driving circuit 3 and a video information signal sent to an information electrode driving circuit 2 are transferred in series by using one address data line 11 while the sequence relation that a selected scanning-line electrode address positioned at the head and video information of a selected scanning-line electrode sent following it are sent to an information-line electrode is held. Then an indication signal for discriminating between the scanning-electrode address signal and video information signal is transferred in synchronism with an information signal, i.e., a horizontal synchronizing signal. Therefore, partial writing (rewriting) of an arbitrary scanning electrode is possible. Consequently, the response of display of the large-screen display panel 1 having many pixels becomes apparently fast and the power consumption can be lowered.
