Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily confirm the kind of a suture needle at the time of operation, by applying coating to the outer surface of the main body of the suture needle and coloring the main body of the suture needle by the color possessed by the coating layer. CONSTITUTION:The main body 2 of a suture needle 1 is made of stainless steel and formed into a curved shape. A chromium sputtering layer 3 is formed to the whole of the outer surface of said main body 2 and a Teflon coating layer 4 is further formed to the whole of the outer surface of the chromium sputtering layer 3. This Teflon coating layer 4 has a whity color. When white pigment is added to a fluorocarbon resin, the coating layer 4 can be perfectly colored white. When black pigment, red pigment, yellow pigment, orange pigment, green pigment, blue pigment and purple pigment are added to the fluorocarbon resin, the coating layer 4 can be colored by respective colors. When the kind of the suture needle is distinguished at the time of operation, the kind of the suture needle can be discriminated not only by the shape thereof but also by the color difference thereof.
