Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the response frequency of a printing wire and to reduce the generation of heat of a printing head by reducing an eddy current, by providing a slot to a magnetic circuit. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic circuit of a printing head is constituted of a magnet 5, a yoke 1 and a hammer spring 3. A current is made to flow to a coil 2 when a printing operation is performed to cancel the magnetic flux of the magnetic circuit as well as to cancel the force attracting the hammer spring 3 and the upper end of the spring 3 is separated from the surface of the yoke 1 at a high speed to spring out a printing wire 4 to perform printing operation. When a current is supplied to the coil 2, if magnetic flux comes to 0 abruptly, the hammer spring 3 can be operated quickly so much but an eddy current is generated in the magnetic circuit at the time of the change in a magnetic speed so as to obstruct the change in the magnetic speed. Therefore, a slot 6 is provided to the yoke 1 to make the eddy current hard to flow.

In the conventional magnetic circuit described above, when the magnetic flux changes when the wire is driven, eddy current tends to flow in the magnetic circuit, resulting in slow changes in magnetic flux, slow response frequency of the wire, and large heat generation in the print head. There are drawbacks such as.

The magnetic circuit of the print head in Fig. 1 is composed of a magnet 5, a yoke l, and a hammer spring 3. When performing a printing operation, a current is applied to the coil 2 to cancel out the magnetic flux of the magnetic circuit. By canceling the suction force of the spring 3 and causing the upper end of the spring to separate from the yoke surface at high speed, the printing wire 4 jumps out and performs a printing operation.

When the coil 2 is energized, the sooner the magnetic flux becomes zero, the faster the hammer spring 3 can operate, but when the magnetic speed changes, eddy currents are generated in the magnetic circuit and try to block the change in magnetic speed. Therefore, as shown in the cross-sectional view of FIG. 2, slots are provided in the yoke 1 to make it difficult for eddy current to flow.
