Claims (21)
- (1) 무연탄화수소 기제: 농도가 0.000264 내지 0.2642g Mn/ℓ에 상당하는 양의 하나 이상의 사이클로펜타디에닐 망간 트리카보닐 화합물; 및 산소 함량 0.1 내지 20.0중량%에 상당하는 양의 디메틸 카보네이트를 혼합하여 연료 조성물을 수득하고;(2) 당해 연료 조성물을 내부 연소 엔진에 공급하고;(3) H, H2, OCH3, 및/또는 OH 유리 라디칼이 중간 연소 생성물로서 충분한 양으로 형성되는 연료를 발화시켜 연소 속도를 가속화하고;(4) 엔진을, 배기량 1ℓ당 2.613ihp(2.65metric 마력) 이상의 하중 또는 이의 일부의 하중하에 50mph(80.5k/hr)의 속도로 작동시킴으로써, 탄화수소 기제를 단독으로 사용하여 작동시키는 경우에 비해 연료 경제성을 증가시키고;(5) 연소 배출물을 엔진으로부터 배기시킴으로써, 유해한 대기 배출물의 배출량이 Mn만을 동일향 함유하는 무연 탄화수소 기제를 사용하는 경우의 배출량 미만이 되도록 함을 포함하여, 연료의 경제성을 증가시키는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 사이클로펜타디에닐 망간 트리카보닐 화합물이 1/32g Mn/gal(3.785ℓ)를 초과하는 양으로 사용됨을 특징으로 하는 방법.

- 제1항 내지 제5항 중의 어느 한 항에 있어서, 엔진 배출물을 배기 촉매 전환기 속으로 배기시켜 촉매의 산화망간 플러깅(plugging)을 유발하는 배출량을 피함을 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항 내지 제5항 중의 어느 한 항에 있어서, 엔진을, 배기량 1ℓ당 3.53metric 마력(또는 20ihp/350CID) 이상의 하중에서 작동시킴으로써, 엔진 장치 연소 배기/가스 온도가 Mn만을 함유하는 탄화수소 기제를 사용하는 경우에 비하여 약 59F(15℃)이하로 강하되는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 연소전에 증기화된 연료 분획의 부분 증기압을 증가시키기 위한 수단을 함유함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 배기 산소 감지기를 추가로 사용함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 무연 탄화수소 기제; 산소 함량 0.1 내지 20.0중량%에 상당하는 양의 디메틸 카보네이트 및 0.000264 내지 0.2642g Mn/ℓ에 상당하는 양의 하나 이상의 사이클로펜타디에닐 망간 트리카보닐 화합물을 포함하고, 연료 경제성이 Mn 만을 함유하는 무연 탄화수소 기제를 사용하는 경우에 비해 큼을 특징으로 하는 연료 조성물.
