CLA는 유리 지방산이기 때문에 동·식물성 유지에 첨가될 경우 이들 유지의 품질 저하가 우려된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 CLA는 중성 지방 유도체 형태로 식품에 첨가하는 것이 바람직하다. CLA의 중성 지방 유도체는 유리 CLA 보다 체내 흡수율이 좋으며, 카르복실기가 제거되기 때문에 카르복실기에 의한 독성을 없앨 수 있다는 장점도 있다. 글리세롤의 히드록실기가 CLA 말단의 카르복실기와 에스테르 결합된 CLA의 트리글리세리드 유도체(CLA-TG라 칭함)의 제조 방법에 대해서는 본 출원인의 선출원인 대한민국 특허출원 제10-1999-0037151호에 기재되어 있다.Since CLA is a free fatty acid, when it is added to animal and vegetable fats and oils, the quality of these fats and oils is feared. 도 3은 여러 가지 농도의 CLA-TG 용액으로 처리한 뽕잎으로 사육된 누에의 체내에 축적된 CLA 함량을 보여주는 그래프이다. 여기에서 보면, 뽕잎에 처리하는 CLA-TG 용액의 CLA-TG 농도가 높을수록 누에 체내에 축적되는 CLA의 함량은 높아지는 것을 알 수 있다. 단, CLA-TG 농도 10 %와 15 % 사이에는 유의적인 차이가 없었다. 한편, CLA-TG 용액의 농도가 0.1 %인 것은 CLA가 극미량으로 검출되었으며, CLA-TG를 처리하지 않은 순수한 뽕잎이나 홍아씨유를 처리한 뽕잎으로 사육된 누에에서는 체내에 CLA 축적이 전혀 없었다. 이 결과를 도 1과 비교하면, 유리 상태의 CLA를 처리하는 경우 보다 CLA-TG를 처리한 뽕잎으로 사육한 누에에서 체내에 축적되는 CLA의 함량이 전체적으로 약간 높은 경향을 나타내는 것을 알 수 있다.3 is a graph showing the CLA content accumulated in the body of silkworms bred with mulberry leaves treated with various concentrations of CLA-TG solution.
