Claims (16)
- (a) 이방성 흡수 분자를 포함하는 하나 이상의 광학 배향층을, 이방성 흡수 분자의 흡수 밴드에 속하는 파장을 갖는 편광에 노광시켜, 노광된 이방성 흡수 분자가 입사광의 편광 방향에 대해 광학 배향층의 표면을 따라 + 및 - θ각의 액정 매질 배향을 유도하는 단계,(b) 액정 매질을 이 광학 배향층에 도포하는 단계를 포함하며, 이때 이방성 흡수 분자가 본질적으로 1종 이상의 디아릴 케톤을 포함하는, 광학 배향층 표면에 인접한 액정의 배향 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 디아릴 케톤이 하기 화학식 I의 반복 구성 요소를 갖는 중합체를 포함하는 것인 방법.<화학식 I>식 중, 화학식 I의 구성 요소는 Q와, Q, Ar 및 Ar'의 군 중에서 선택된 하나 이상의 기 간의 공유 결합을 갖고, Q는 1 내지 100 개의 원자를 갖는 유기기이고, Ar 및 Ar'는 치환 및 비치환 페닐, 융합 폴리시클릭 방향족 및 헤테로방향족 기의 군 중에서 독립적으로 선택된다.
- 제2항에 있어서, 중합체가 폴리이미드인 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서, 폴리이미드가 1종 이상의 하기 화학식 II의 구성 요소를 포함하는, 1종 이상의 디아릴 케톤 테트라카르복실산 이무수물 및 1종 이상의 디아민의 반응 산물인 것인 방법.<화학식 II>식 중, Q'는 2개 이상의 탄소 원자를 함유하는 2가의 유기기이고, X는 H, Cl, F, Br, R1및 R1O- (여기서, R1은 C1내지 C3퍼플루오르화 알킬쇄, C1내지 C3부분 플루오르화 알킬쇄 및 C1내지 C8탄화수소쇄로부터 독립적으로 선택됨)으로 구성되는 군 중에서 독립적으로 선택되고, Z는 -S-, -SO2-, -O-, -CH2CH2-, -CH2-, -NR- (여기서, R은 C1내지 C4탄화수소쇄임), -C(CF3)2-, -C(O)- 및 공유 결합으로부터 선택되고, m은 1 또는 0이다.
