Claims (20)
- 다이얼과,상기 다이얼에 결합되어 있는 코드 휠과,이미터 및 검출기를 포함하는 인코더와,상기 다이얼에 결합되어 있으며, 상기 다이얼의 일부분만을 누르는 것에 응답하여 제 1 버튼 클릭 동작을 생성하는, 스위치와,독립 버튼에 동작 가능하게 결합된 돔 스위치(dome switch)와,상기 독립 버튼을 에워싸는 조명 링을 포함하고,상기 코드 휠은 자신의 평면 내에 위치하는 교번하는 반사 부분 및 비 반사 부분의 트랙을 포함하고,상기 이미터는 상기 코드 휠의 트랙 상에 입사하는 광신호를 생성하고, 상기 검출기는 상기 트랙의 상기 반사 부분에서 반사된 반사 광신호를 검출하고 상기 반사 광신호에 대응하는 채널 신호를 생성하며,상기 다이얼은 상기 조명 링과 상기 독립 버튼 주위를 둘러싸는유저 내비게이션 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 인코더에 결합되어 있으며, 상기 채널 신호에 대응하는 카운트 신호를 생성하는, 디코더와,상기 디코더에 결합되어 있으며, 유저(user)에 의한 상기 다이얼의 움직임에 응답하여, 제어되는 장치에서 유저 내비게이션 동작을 실시하는(implement), 마이크로프로세서를 더 포함하는유저 내비게이션 장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 독립 버튼은 상기 마이크로프로세서에 결합되고,상기 마이크로프로세서는 제 2 버튼 클릭 동작을 실시하고,상기 유저 내비게이션 동작은 상기 다이얼의 회전에 대응하는 스크롤링(scrolling) 동작, 상기 다이얼의 일부분만을 누르는 것에 대응하는 상기 제 1 버튼 클릭 동작 또는 상기 독립 버튼의 누름에 대응하는 상기 제 2 버튼 클릭 동작을 포함하며,상기 스크롤링 동작은 상기 제어되는 장치에서의 콘텐츠를 조작하는유저 내비게이션 장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,상기 마이크로프로세서는 상기 다이얼의 누름 또는 상기 독립 버튼의 누름에 응답하여 상기 제어되는 장치에서의 방향 선택 또는 아이템 선택을 실시하는 신호를 또한 생성하는유저 내비게이션 장치.
- 삭제
- 제 1 항에 있어서,뒤판(back plate)과,상기 뒤판에 결합되는 회로 기판과,상기 뒤판에 결합되는 장착 브라켓을 더 포함하고,상기 인코더는 상기 회로 기판에 결합되고,상기 코드 휠, 상기 다이얼, 상기 독립 버튼 및 상기 조명 링은 상기 장착 브라켓에 장착되는유저 내비게이션 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 검출기는,상기 트랙의 반사 부분에서 반사된 상기 반사 광신호를 검출하는 포토다이오드와,상기 포토다이오드에 결합되어 있으며, 상기 반사 광신호에 대응하는 상기 채널 신호를 생성하는, 신호 처리 회로를 포함하는유저 내비게이션 장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 코드 휠과 상기 이미터 사이와, 상기 코드 휠과 상기 검출기 사이에 에어 갭을 더 포함하고,상기 이미터 및 상기 검출기는 캡슐화제(encalsulant)에 의해 캡슐화되지 않는유저 내비게이션 장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 이미터 및 상기 검출기를 공동으로 캡슐화하는 캡슐화제를 더 포함하는유저 내비게이션 장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 이미터를 캡슐화하는 제 1 캡슐화제와,상기 검출기를 캡슐화하는 제 2 캡슐화제를 더 포함하는유저 내비게이션 장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 이미터를 캡슐화하는 제 1 캡슐화제와,상기 검출기의 와이어 본드를 캡슐화하는 제 2 캡슐화제를 더 포함하되,상기 제 2 캡슐화제는 상기 포토다이오드를 캡슐화하지 않는유저 내비게이션 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 인코더는 증분(incremental), 다 회전(multi-turn), 다 채널(multi-channel), 회전식 인코더를 포함하는유저 내비게이션 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 인코더는 칩-온-보드 (chip-on-board) 이미터와 검출기, 또는 분리 이송 성형된 이미터-검출기 패키지(discrete transfer molded emitter-detector package)를 포함하는유저 내비게이션 장치.
- 회전 다이얼과,독립 버튼에 동작 가능하게 결합된 돔 스위치와,상기 독립버튼을 에워싸는 조명 링과,코딩된 트랙상에 입사하는 광 신호를 생성하는 수단과,상기 코딩된 트랙의 움직임을 검출하는 수단을 포함하며,상기 회전 다이얼은 상기 조명 링과 상기 독립버튼 주위를 둘러싸며,상기 코딩된 트랙은 코딩 휠의 평면 내에 위치하는 교번하는 반사 부분 및 비 반사부분을 포함하고,상기 코딩된 트랙은 상기 회전 다이얼의 유저 움직임에 응답하여 이동하며,상기 유저 움직임은 상기 회전 다이얼의 일부분만을 눌러 제 1 버튼 클릭 동작을 활성화하는 것을 포함하는유저 내비게이션 장치.
- 제 14 항에 있어서,상기 회전 다이얼의 유저 움직임에 응답하여, 제어되는 장치에서의 유저 내비게이션 동작을 실시하는 수단을 더 포함하는유저 내비게이션 장치.
- 제 14 항에 있어서,상기 코딩된 트랙과 관련하여 (in conjunction with) 장착된 인코더의 적어도 일 부분을 캡슐화하는 수단을 더 포함하는유저 내비게이션 장치.
- 제 14 항에 있어서,상기 코딩된 트랙의 검출된 움직임 또는 상기 독립 버튼의 검출된 움직임에 응답하여 스위치를 활성화하는 수단을 더 포함하는유저 내비게이션 장치.
