Abstract
Description
Claims (11)
- (a) 탄소질 공급원료를 가스화 반응기에 공급하는 단계;
(b) 증기, 일산화탄소, 수소 및 가스화 촉매의 존재하에서 탄소질 공급원료를 가스화 반응기내에서 반응시켜 메탄, 수소, 일산화탄소, 이산화탄소 및 1종 이상의 추가의 가스 부산물을 포함하는 제1의 가스 흐름을 형성하는 단계;
(c) 제1의 가스 흐름을 수성 매체와 접촉시켜 제1의 가스 흐름 중의 일산화탄소의 상당 부분을 이산화탄소로 전환시키고 수소를 생성하여 메탄, 수소, 이산화탄소 및 1종 이상의 추가의 가스 부산물을 포함하는 일산화탄소-결핍 가스 흐름을 형성하는 단계; 및
(d) 이산화탄소의 상당 부분 및 1종 이상의 추가의 가스 부산물의 상당 부분을 일산화탄소-결핍 가스 흐름으로부터 제거하여 메탄 및 수소를 포함하는 제2의 가스 흐름을 형성하는 단계; 및
(e) 제2의 가스 흐름 중의 수소 및 제2의 가스 흐름 중의 메탄을 서로로부터 부분적으로 또는 완전히 분리하여 수소-농축 가스 흐름 및 제1의 메탄-농축 가스 흐름을 형성하는 단계
를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 탄소질 공급원료를, 수소, 메탄 및 다른 가스 생성물을 포함하는 가스 흐름에 함유된 복수의 가스 생성물로 전환시키고 수소 및 메탄을 가스 흐름 중의 다른 가스 생성물로부터 분리하는 방법. - 제1항에 있어서, 차르(char)가 단계 (b)에서 형성되며, 차르가 가스화 반응기로부터 제거되어 촉매 회수 및 재순환 공정으로 이송되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제2항에 있어서, 가스화 촉매가 촉매 회수 및 재순환 공정으로부터 재순환된 가스화 촉매를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- (a) 제1의 탄소질 공급원료를 반응기에 공급하는 단계;
(b) (i) 열 에너지 및 (ii) 수소, 일산화탄소 및 이산화탄소를 포함하는 연소 가스 흐름을 생성하도록 반응기내의 제1의 탄소질 공급원료를 산소의 존재하에 부분적으로 연소시키는 단계;
(c) 제1의 탄소질 공급원료의 연소로부터의 열 에너지를 사용하여 증기를 생성하는 단계;
(d) 증기의 일부분 또는 전부, 연소 가스 흐름의 일부분 또는 전부, 제2의 탄소질 공급원료 및 가스화 촉매를 가스화 반응기에 투입하는 단계;
(e) 가스화 반응기내의 제2의 탄소질 공급원료를 증기, 일산화탄소, 수소 및 가스화 촉매의 존재하에서 반응시켜 메탄, 수소, 일산화탄소, 이산화탄소 및 1종 이상의 추가의 가스 부산물을 포함하는 제1의 가스 흐름을 형성하는 단계;
(f) 제1의 가스 흐름을 수성 매체와 접촉시켜 제1의 가스 흐름 중의 일산화탄소의 상당 부분을 이산화탄소로 전환시키고 수소를 생성하여 메탄, 수소, 이산화탄소 및 1종 이상의 추가의 가스 부산물을 포함하는 일산화탄소-결핍 가스 흐름을 형성하는 단계;
(g) 이산화탄소의 상당 부분 및 1종 이상의 가스 부산물의 상당 부분을 일산화탄소-결핍 가스 흐름으로부터 제거하여 메탄 및 수소를 포함하는 제2의 가스 흐름을 형성하는 단계; 및
(h) 제2의 가스 흐름 중의 수소 및 제2의 가스 흐름 중의 메탄을 서로에 대하여 부분적으로 또는 완전히 분리하여 수소-농축 가스 흐름 및 제1의 메탄-농축 가스 흐름을 형성하는 단계
를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 탄소질 공급원료를, 수소, 메탄 및 다른 가스 생성물을 포함하는 가스 흐름에 함유된 복수의 가스 생성물로 전환시키고 수소 및 메탄을 가스 흐름 중의 다른 가스 생성물로부터 분리하는 방법. - 제4항에 있어서, 차르가 단계 (b)에서 형성되며, 차르가 가스화 반응기로부터 제거되어 촉매 회수 및 재순환 공정으로 이송되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제5항에 있어서, 가스화 촉매가 촉매 회수 및 재순환 공정으로부터 재순환된 가스화 촉매를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제4항 내지 제6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 제1의 탄소질 공급원료가 수성 슬러리의 형태로 존재하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제4항 내지 제6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 단계 (c)에서, 증기가 반응기내에서 생성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제4항 내지 제6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 단계 (c)에서, 열 에너지가 물과 접촉시 증기를 생성하는 열 교환기로 전달되는 방법.
- 제1항 내지 제6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 제1의 메탄-농축 가스 흐름이 메탄, 임의로 일산화탄소 및 약 4 몰% 이하의 수소를 포함하며; 제1의 메탄-농축 가스 흐름의 발열량이 950 btu/scf(건조 기준) 미만인 경우 및 제1의 메탄-농축 가스 흐름이 1,000 ppm 이상의 일산화탄소를 포함할 경우: (1) 일산화탄소를 제1의 메탄-농축 가스 흐름으로부터 부분적으로 또는 완전히 분리하여 (i) 일산화탄소-농축 가스 흐름 및 (ii) 발열량이 950 btu/scf(건조 기준) 이상의 제2의 메탄-농축 가스 흐름을 형성하거나; 또는 (2) 제1의 메탄-농축 가스 흐름 중의 일산화탄소를 부분적으로 또는 완전히 메탄화하여 제2의 메탄-농축 가스 흐름을 형성하는 방법.
- 제10항에 있어서, 제2의 가스 흐름이 일산화탄소를 포함하며, 수소-결핍 가스 흐름이 약 1,000 ppm 이상의 일산화탄소를 포함하며, 수소-결핍 가스 흐름 중의 일산화탄소가 부분적으로 또는 완전히 메탄화되어 메탄-농축 가스 흐름을 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
