Abstract
Description
도 2 내지 5 및 7은 슬릿 마스크에 대해 와이어 그리드 편광판의 배향을 조정함으로써 중합성 액정 물질을 반경 방향 또는 동심원 상으로 정렬시킨 중합체 필름을 도시한다.
Claims (20)
- a) 기판상에 하나 이상의 이색성(dichroic) 광개시제 및 하나 이상의 키랄(chiral) 화합물을 포함하는 중합성(polymerizable) 액정 물질의 층을 제공하는 단계,
b) 상기 중합성 액정 물질의 온도를, 상기 중합성 액정 물질이 이의 네마틱(nematic) 또는 등방성(isotropic) 상으로 존재하는 온도로 조정하는 단계,
c) 상기 중합성 액정 물질에 선형 편광된 화학선(actinic radiation)을 조사하여 상기 중합성 액정 물질을 중합 및 배향시키고, 이에 의해 상기 중합성 액정 물질의 층 및 상기 선형 편광된 화학선의 전계 벡터의 방향 사이의 각을 변화시키고, 이로써 상기 중합성 액정 물질이 중합체 필름을 형성하도록 하는 단계, 및
d) 임의적으로, 상기 기판으로부터 상기 중합체 필름을 제거하는 단계
를 포함하는 패터닝된 중합체 필름의 제조 방법. - 제 1 항에 있어서,

상기 중합성 액정 물질이 하나 이상의 일반응성 중합성 메소젠성 화합물, 하나 이상의 이- 또는 다중반응성 중합성 메소젠성 화합물, 하나 이상의 키랄 화합물 및 하나 이상의 이색성 광개시제를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 패터닝된 중합체 필름의 제조 방법. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 중합성 액정 물질이 하나 이상의 일반응성 키랄 중합성 메소젠성 화합물, 하나 이상의 일-, 이- 또는 다중반응성 비키랄 중합성 메소젠성 화합물 및 하나 이상의 이색성 광개시제를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 패터닝된 중합체 필름의 제조 방법. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 중합성 액정 물질이 하나 이상의 이- 또는 다중반응성 키랄 중합성 메소젠성 화합물, 하나 이상의 일-, 이- 또는 다중반응성 비키랄 중합성 메소젠성 화합물 및 하나 이상의 이색성 광개시제를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 패터닝된 중합체 필름의 제조 방법. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 중합성 액정 물질이 하나 이상의 비-중합성 키랄 화합물, 하나 이상의 일-, 이- 또는 다중반응성 비키랄 중합성 메소젠성 화합물 및 하나 이상의 이색성 광개시제를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 패터닝된 중합체 필름의 제조 방법. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 이색성 광개시제가 하기 화학식 I의 화합물로부터 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는, 패터닝된 중합체 필름의 제조 방법:

Sp는 스페이서 기 또는 단일 결합이고,
A11은, 여러 번 존재하는 경우에 서로 독립적으로, 임의적으로 하나 이상의 동일하거나 상이한 기 L로 치환되는, 아릴-, 헤테로아릴-, 지방족 또는 헤테로사이클릭 기이고,
Z11은, 각각의 경우에 서로 독립적으로, -O-, -S-, -CO-, -COO-, -OCO-, -S-CO-, -CO-S-, -O-COO-, -CO-NR01-, -NR01-CO-, -NR01-CO-NR02, -NR01-CO-O-, -O-CO-NR01-, -OCH2-, -CH2O-, -SCH2-, -CH2S-, -CF2O-, -OCF2-, -CF2S-, -SCF2-, -CH2CH2-, -(CH2)4-, -CF2CH2-, -CH2CF2-, -CF2CF2-, -CH=N-, -N=CH-, -N=N-, -CH=CR01-, -CY01=CY02-, -C≡C-, -CH=CH-COO-, -OCO-CH=CH- 또는 단일 결합이고,
m은 0, 1, 2 또는 3이고,

R12 및 R13은 서로 독립적으로 H, 또는 임의적으로 F, Cl, Br, I 또는 CN에 의해 일치환 또는 다중치환되는 1 내지 20개의 탄소 원자를 갖는 직쇄 또는 분지형 알킬(이때 하나 이상의 비-인접한 CH2 기는 임의적으로, 각각의 경우에 서로 독립적으로, O 및/또는 S 원자가 서로 직접 연결되지 않는 방식으로 -O-, -S-, -NR01-, -SiR01R02-, -CO-, -COO-, -OCO-, -OCO-O-, -NR01-CO-, -CO-NR01-, -NR01-CO-NR02-, -S-CO-, -CO-S-, - CY01= CY02- 또는 -C≡C-로 대체됨)이고,
R14는 -OH, -NR01R02, 또는 를 나타내고,
Y01 및 Y02는 각각, 서로 독립적으로, H, 할로겐 또는 CN을 나타내고,

상기 키랄 화합물이 나선형 비틀린 힘(HTP)≥25 ㎛-1을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는, 패터닝된 중합체 필름의 제조 방법. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 액정 물질 중의 상기 키랄 화합물의 총 비율은 2 내지 20 중량%의 범위인 것을 특징으로 하는, 패터닝된 중합체 필름의 제조 방법. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
단계 c)가 상기 중합성 액정 물질을 선형 편광된 UV 복사선에 노출시킴으로써 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는, 패터닝된 중합체 필름의 제조 방법. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 중합성 액정 물질이, 상기 조사 단계 c) 후, 상기 기판의 주요 면(main plane)에 대해 평면 배향(planar orientation)을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는, 패터닝된 중합체 필름의 제조 방법. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 중합성 액정 물질이, 상기 조사 단계 c) 후, 상기 기판의 주요 면에 대해 경사진(tilted) 배향(0°초과 90°미만)을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는, 패터닝된 중합체 필름의 제조 방법. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
단계 c)에서의 조사가 상기 기판의 주요 면에 대해 비스듬한(oblique) 각(0°초과 90°미만)으로 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는, 패터닝된 중합체 필름의 제조 방법. - 제 1 항 내지 제 17 항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 제조 방법에 의해 수득가능한 중합체 필름.
- 제 18 항에 있어서,
액정 디스플레이(LCD) 또는 다른 광학 또는 전기광학 소자에 사용되거나, 장식 또는 보안 제품용으로 사용되거나, 윈도우 제품용, 정렬 층 또는 광학 지연 필름으로서 사용되는 중합체 필름. - 하나 이상의 제 18 항에 따른 중합체 필름을 포함하는 광학 또는 전기광학 소자.
