Abstract

A disposable speculum equipped with a light is disclosed. The speculum of the present invention comprises an upper support member having one end inserted into an upper region inside the vagina and a movable lever provided at the other end exposed to the outside of the vagina, a lower support member hinged to one side of the other end of the upper support member, one end inserted into a lower region inside the vagina and a fixed lever provided at the other end exposed to the outside of the vagina, and a lamp coupled to an end of one side of the lower support member having the fixed lever, thereby enabling the interior of the vagina to be illuminated using the lamp, thereby securing a field of vision for inspection.

Description

DISSPOSABLE SPECULUM WITH LIGHT

The present invention relates to a speculum, and more particularly, to a disposable speculum equipped with a light that can utilize lighting as well as output and record images and can use a disposable cover.

A speculum is an instrument inserted into the vagina to expose the vaginal wall or cervix for diagnosis or treatment purposes.

In general, when diagnosing and treating vaginitis occurring inside the vagina, or performing various procedures or diseases of the anterior or posterior vaginal wall, it is necessary to secure a clear view, facilitate post-procedure treatment and removal of stitches, and when diagnosing the cervix located at the inner end or treating lesions of the cervix, the vagina must be dilated to secure a clear view and allow the inside to be viewed.

For this purpose, the existing quality control is such that the front ends of the upper and lower expansion plates, which form a duckbill shape, are connected by a hinge, a fixed lever is formed extending from the front end of the lower expansion plate, and a movable lever is formed extending from the front end of the upper expansion plate.

And, an adjustment bar is provided at one end that is connected to a fixed lever and the other end that passes through a movable lever, and an adjustment knob is screwed onto the other end of the adjustment bar that passes through the movable lever.

A conventional quality control is illustrated in Fig. 1.

Referring to Fig. 1, when the lower extension plate (70) and the upper extension plate (20) are in close contact with each other vertically, they are connected by a hinge pin (40a), a fixed lever (30) is connected to the lower extension plate (10), and at the same time, a movable lever (40) is connected diagonally to the upper extension plate (20), and a screw rod (50) installed in the fixed lever (30) is inserted into a through hole formed in the movable lever (40), so that when the movable lever (40) is guided by the screw rod (50) through the through hole and moves, the upper extension plate (20) moves up and down by the hinge pin (40a), so that the lower extension plate (70) and the upper extension plate (20) are in close contact with each other or spread apart.

An adjusting nut (60) is fitted to the above screw rod (50) so that the angle at which the lower expansion plate (10) and the upper expansion plate (20) are opened can be adjusted and fixed.

This type of vagina can be inserted into the vagina with the upper and lower plates tightly pressed together around the hinge to form a duckbill-like shape, and the angle at which the upper and lower plates open around the hinge can be adjusted and fixed depending on the degree of screw engagement of the adjustment bar and adjustment knob.

However, the existing speculum has a planar structure in which the upper and lower plates cover both the upper and lower areas of the vaginal wall, making it difficult to secure a view of the vaginal wall. In particular, when the upper and lower plates are spread apart to expand the vagina, the inner part of the vagina maintains a relatively deep and wide area, while the entrance of the speculum through which the surgical instrument passes is relatively narrow, making it difficult to secure a view during the procedure.

In addition, when the upper and lower plates are spread apart to expand the inside of the vagina, the entry and handling of surgical instruments for various procedures such as disinfection, washing, and vaginal surgery are required. However, when diagnosing and performing procedures on the inside of the vagina, such as cervical examination, hysteroscopy, and endometrial curettage, the narrow entrance of the vaginal speculum imposes many restrictions on the movement of surgical instruments, and as a result, many difficulties arise during the actual procedure.

In addition, due to the nature of the diagnostic and surgical sites, such as cervical examination, hysteroscopy, and endometrial curettage, precise examination is difficult due to the darkness of the vagina, even though specific observation is required.

And although speculum can be used semi-permanently after sterilization, users have complaints about the risk of infection and unsanitary nature, and since existing speculum is made of metal, it is impossible to rule out a cold feeling during the actual insertion and examination.

The present invention, which aims to solve these problems, provides a disposable speculum equipped with a light that can secure a field of vision by illuminating the inside of the vagina using a lamp.

In addition, another object of the present invention is to provide a disposable speculum equipped with a light that can be discarded after a single use.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a disposable speculum equipped with a light capable of examining an image inside the vagina through a display and recording the image.

In order to solve such a problem, the disposable speculum equipped with a light of the present invention may be configured to include an upper support member having one end inserted into an upper region inside the vagina and a movable lever provided at the other end exposed to the outside of the vagina, a lower support member hinged to one side of the other end of the upper support member and having one end inserted into a lower region inside the vagina and a fixed lever provided at the other end exposed to the outside of the vagina, a lamp attached to an end of one side of the upper support member having the movable lever, an adjusting screw having one end connected to the fixed lever and the other end inserted into a through hole formed in the movable lever, and an adjusting nut coupled to the adjusting screw passing through the movable lever.

In addition, it may further include a disposable upper cover made of non-metal and having a hollow insertion groove in the center that is fit-fitted with the upper support, and a disposable lower cover made of non-metal and having a hollow insertion groove in the center that is fit-fitted with the lower support.

Therefore, according to the disposable speculum equipped with a light of the present invention, the inside of the vagina can be illuminated using a lamp, so there is an effect of being able to secure a field of view for inspection.

In addition, the disposable speculum equipped with a light of the present invention is made of synthetic resin suitable for the human body and provides a certain degree of elasticity, so it can provide a soft and comfortable feeling when inserted into the vagina, prevent the cold feeling of metal, and has the effect of providing a feeling of hygiene without the risk of infection.

And, according to the disposable speculum equipped with a light of the present invention, it is possible to observe the inside of the vagina and record necessary images using a display in a comfortable position.

Figure 2 is an exploded perspective view of a speculum using disposable upper and lower covers and a lamp, and Figure 3 is a combined perspective view of a speculum using disposable upper and lower covers and a lamp.

As shown, the vaginal speculum according to one embodiment of the present invention is configured with a lamp coupled to the upper and lower support members and the upper support member to illuminate the inside of the vagina and secure a field of vision, and by using disposable upper and lower covers for the upper and lower support members, the cool feeling of the metal material is improved, and there is no risk of infection and it is hygienic.

The upper support (20) has one end inserted into the upper region inside the vagina, and the other end exposed to the outside of the vagina is provided with a moving lever (40).

The lower support (70) is hinged to one side of the other end of the upper support (20), one end is inserted into the lower area inside the vagina, and the other end exposed to the outside of the vagina is provided with a fixing lever (30).

In addition, an adjusting screw (50) is provided, one side of which is connected to the fixed lever (30) and the other side is inserted into a through hole formed in the moving lever (40), and an adjusting nut (60) is provided that is coupled to the adjusting screw that passes through the moving lever (40).

That is, the adjusting screw (50) installed in the fixed lever (30) is configured to be inserted into a through hole formed in the moving lever (40), so that when the moving lever (40) is guided by the adjusting screw (50) through the through hole and moves, the upper support (20) moves up and down by the hinge pin, and the lower support (70) and the upper support (20) operate to come into contact with or spread apart from each other, and an adjusting nut (60) is fitted to the adjusting screw (50) so that the angle at which the lower support (70) and the upper support (20) are spread apart can be adjusted and fixed.

That is, the upper and lower supports can be inserted into the vagina while being tightly fitted around the hinge to form a duckbill-like shape, and the angle at which the upper and lower supports are spread around the hinge can be adjusted for use depending on the degree of screw connection.

In addition, the existing speculum has the upper and lower plates spread apart to expand the inside of the vagina, so the inside of the vagina maintains a relatively deep and wide area, while the entrance of the speculum through which the surgical instrument passes is relatively narrow, making it difficult to secure a field of vision during the procedure.

To this end, the present invention can be configured such that a lamp coupling portion (130) is formed at one end of an upper support (20) or a lower support (70) for lighting in a space where it is difficult to secure a field of vision, and a lamp (132) is fixed to the lamp coupling portion (130).

This joint (130) can be configured as a joint groove.

That is, a coupling protrusion (132a) can be formed at the bottom of the lamp (132) and configured to be fitted into a coupling portion (130) formed at the end of the fixed lever (30).

This is to secure the maximum possible field of view for inspection when the lamp (132) is attached to the inside of the lower support (70), and the attachment part (130) is formed in a form in which a part of the inside of the lower support (70) is sunken and protrudes outward, and the lamp (132) is fixed thereto.

And when the lamp (132) is mounted on the joint (130), the height and angle must be appropriately selected so that the light can shine well into the interior of the body.

In this embodiment, the coupling part is configured as a defective groove and the lamp is fitted into the coupling groove, but this is not limited thereto. The coupling part may be configured as a magnetic fixing plate formed on one end of the inner side of the fixing lever (30), and a permanent magnet (132a) may be formed on one side of the lamp (132) to be magnetically coupled to the fixing plate.

In addition, a method of forming a screw hole in the upper support (20) or the lower support (70) and forming a bracket in the lamp (132) and fastening it with a bolt may be used, or a method of forming a fixing hole in the upper support (20) or the lower support (70) and forming a bracket in the lamp (132) and fastening it with a fixing pin or the like may be used.

At this time, since the lamp (132) is configured on the entrance side of the vagina, it is desirable to form it small so as not to obstruct the view when visually inspecting the inside of the vagina.

In order for the lamp (132) to not obstruct the view, it is desirable to form it as small as possible. However, since there is a limit to how small it can be in order to form the lamp (132) and the battery as an integrated unit, the lamp (132) can be formed as small as possible and connected to it, and the battery can be separately formed on one side of the moving lever (40).

In addition, as another example of combining a lamp (132), a corrugated pipe (not shown) may be used to combine the lamp (132) to one end of the corrugated pipe, and the other end of the corrugated pipe may be combined with a moving lever (40).

At this time, the lamp fixing part may be formed as a joining groove on the moving lever (40) and a catch may be formed on the other end of the corrugated pipe so that it can be joined to the joining groove.

Therefore, when examining the inside of the vagina, the position and angle of the lamp (132) can be freely changed by bending the above-mentioned folded tube, and the above-mentioned folded tube to which the lamp (132) is connected can be attached and detached, so that it can be used very conveniently.

Additionally, the present invention may include a switch for turning the lamp on and off.

Referring to Fig. 3, a switch (134) is provided at one end of the moving lever (40) and is configured to be electrically connected to the lamp (132) so as to turn the lamp on and off.

In addition, the present invention has another feature of using a disposable plastic cover instead of a metal cover.

That is, the present invention is configured to have a predetermined elasticity by making a disposable cover for the existing upper and lower supports out of synthetic resin suitable for the human body, so that it can provide a soft and comfortable feeling when inserted into the vagina, prevent the cold feeling of metal, and provide a feeling of being hygienic without the risk of infection.

Specifically, referring to FIG. 2, the upper cover (110) has a hollow insertion groove (112) in the center into which the end of the upper support (20) is fitted and is made of non-metal, and the lower cover (120) also has a hollow insertion groove (122) in the center into which the end of the lower support (70) is fitted and is made of non-metal.

The upper cover (110) is made of disposable plastic as described above, but is configured so that the upper support member (20) in the shape of a semicircular duckbill upper part is inserted into the insertion groove (112) and pushed in, and then the upper cover (110) can be fitted onto the upper support member (20).

Accordingly, the upper cover (110) also forms a semicircular duckbill upper shape.

The lower cover (120) is also made of disposable plastic, but the lower support (70) in the shape of a semicircular duckbill can be inserted into the insertion groove (122) with one end inserted, and then the lower cover (120) can be fitted into the lower support (70).

Accordingly, the lower cover (120) also forms a semicircular duckbill lower shape.

In addition, the present invention has another feature of providing a disposable speculum equipped with a light that can examine an image inside the vagina through a display and record the image.

An example drawing of a quality control using a display is shown in FIGS. 4 and 5.

FIG. 4 is a drawing showing an example of a vaginal examination using a lamp and upper and lower covers, and FIG. 5 is a drawing showing another example of a vaginal examination using both upper and lower covers and a display device. The display device operates to capture an image of the vagina into which the upper support (20) is inserted and display it on the display unit (145).

To this end, the display device (140) comprises a flexible jabra (142) having a curved shape, a connecting portion (143) that is connected to one end of the upper support (20) at one end of the jabra (142), and provides an image captured by a camera (146) and a lamp (147). The display device comprises a support portion (140) made of a flexible material, a connecting portion (141, 144) that is fixedly mounted on the upper end of the support portion (140), and a display (145) that is connected to the connecting portion (141, 144) and displays image information acquired from the camera (146).

The support member (140) has a connecting member (143) that is connected to the saddle at one end and a connecting member (141, 144) that is connected to the display (145) at the other end, and includes a jabra (142) that supports the connecting member (143) and the connecting member (141, 144) and electrically connects the image captured by the camera to be transmitted to the display.

Jabra (142) is usually provided in a stylet of a predetermined length and has a curved shape with a predetermined curvature at the lower end, is made of metal, and has a connecting part (143) that is connected to the upper support (20) at the lower end.

At the end of the connecting portion (143), a camera (146) and a lamp (147) are configured, and the lamp (147) is turned on and off by a signal operated on the display, and the image of the camera (146) is displayed.

The connecting portion (143) is configured with a body portion to which the Jabra (142) is connected and a protrusion protruding along the outer periphery of the body portion so that the protrusion is fitted into the upper support (20).

Referring to Fig. 4, the connecting portion (143) has a protrusion protruding along the outer periphery of the body portion to be forcibly fitted onto the inner periphery of the upper support (20).

In this embodiment, the protrusions are shown as being forcibly fitted, but this is not limited to this, and any combination that allows one end of the Jabra (142) to be fixed by being joined to the saddle may be used.

The connecting portion (141, 144) is composed of a first connecting portion (141) and a second connecting portion (144). The first connecting portion (141) is connected to the other end of the Jabra (142), and the second connecting portion (144) is formed in a plate shape, and its back surface is configured to be rotationally connected to the first connecting portion (141) and a display (145) is mounted on the upper surface.

Referring to the drawing, it can be seen that a first connecting portion (141) is provided at the end of the Jabra (142), a second connecting portion (144) is screw-connected to the upper end of the first connecting portion (141), and a display (145) is rotatably connected to the upper surface of the second connecting portion (144).

In addition, the display (145) may be configured as a touch screen to place keys for operating the display device, and may display images captured by the camera and may also have internal memory for storing images.

That is, the lamp and camera can be turned on and off by operating the display unit, and the captured images can be controlled to be displayed.

Meanwhile, the present invention can use various types of speculum depending on the situation to be treated.

That is, FIG. 4 is a drawing showing an example of a quality control in the case of using a lamp and upper and lower covers, FIG. 5 is a drawing showing another example of a quality control in the case of using both upper and lower covers and a display device, and FIG. 6 is an illustration of another example of a quality control in the case of using a display device.

As shown in the drawing, the present invention may use a speculum with only a lamp added, a speculum with only a lamp and disposable upper and lower covers, a speculum with only a display device, or a speculum with disposable upper and lower covers and a display device, depending on the situation.

The operation of a disposable speculum equipped with a light according to one embodiment of the present invention having such a configuration will be described.

For convenience of explanation, the explanation will be divided into cases where a display device is not used and cases where a display device is used.

First, when not using a display device, first attach the lamp (132) to the joint (130), and then attach the upper cover (110) and lower cover (120) to the upper support (20) and lower support (7) to prepare for operation.

Once preparation for the procedure is complete, insert the upper and lower supports into the subject's vagina, adjust the angle using the adjustment screw (50) to expand the inside of the vagina, and then turn on the lamp (132) using the switch (134) to observe the inside of the vagina.

After the procedure is completed, the speculum is withdrawn outside the vagina and the upper and lower covers (110, 120) are removed from the upper and lower supports (20, 70).

When using a display device, prepare for operation by connecting the lamp (132) to the connecting part (130) and fitting the upper cover (110) and lower cover (120) to the upper support (20) and lower support (7).

Afterwards, the upper and lower supports are inserted into the subject's vagina, and the angle is adjusted using the adjusting screw (50) to expand the inside of the vagina, and the joint part (143) of the display device is fitted into the inner diameter of the upper support (20).

When the display device is fitted into the upper support (20), the lamp (132) can be turned on using the switch (134) using the display (145), or the image displayed on the display (145) can be observed for treatment.

After the procedure is completed, the display device is removed, the speculum is pulled out of the vagina, and the upper and lower covers (110, 120) are removed from the upper and lower supports (20, 70).

In the present invention, when using a display device, it is described that the speculum is first inserted into the vagina and then the display device is fitted and used, but this is not limited to this, and it is of course possible to attach the upper and lower covers and the display device to the speculum before performing the procedure.

Although the present invention has been described in detail with respect to the described specific examples, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations are possible within the technical scope of the present invention, and it is natural that such modifications and variations fall within the scope of the appended patent claims.
