Claims (8)
- 단일 채널 자기 헤드로서, 상기 자기 헤드는 자기 기록 매체가 상기 자기 헤드에 대하여 상대적으로 이동할 수 있는 제 1 방향 및 상기 제 1 방향에 직교하는 제 2 방향으로 연장하는 헤드면과, 제 1 방향에서 보았을 때 적층된 층의 구조를 가지며 제 2 방향과, 상기 제 1 방향 및 제 2 방향에 직교하는 제 3 방향으로 실질적으로 연장되는 층구조를 가지며, 상기 층구조에는 상기 제 2 방향으로 연장되는 유효 폭을 가지는 자기 저항 측정 소자와 제 1 자기 소자 및 제 2 자기 소자가 제공되며, 상기 제 1 방향에서 보았을 때 상기 자기 소자들은 서로 반대쪽에 위치하며, 상기 소자들 중 적어도 제 1 자기 소자는 헤드면까지 연장되고 두 자기 소자 모두 전기 전도성이며, 상기 측정 소자는 상기 두 개의 자기 소자들 사이에 전기적으로 직렬로 배열되어 상기 측정 소자를 통하여 실질적으로 제 3 방향으로 측정 전류를 통과시키며, 각각의 자기 소자는 전기 접속면을 가지는 단일 채널 자기 헤드에 있어서,상기 헤드면까지 연장되는 자기 소자는 제 3 방향보다 제 2 방향으로의 폭이 더 크고, 상기 제 2 방향으로의 폭은 상기 측정 소자의 유효 폭보다 더 크며, 상기 헤드면까지 연장되는 자기 소자는 제 2 방향보다 제 3 방향으로의 크기가 더 큰 상대적인 투자율을 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 단일 채널 자기 헤드.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 헤드까지 연장되는 자기 소자의 폭은 제 2 방향으로의 폭이 제 3 방향으로의 폭의 두 배 이상 더 큰 것을 특징으로 하는 단일 채널 자기 헤드.
- 제 1항 또는 2항에 있어서, 상기 제 3 방향으로의 상대적인 자기 투자율은 상기 제 2 방향으로의 상대적인 자기 투자율보다 적어도 25의 팩터(factor)가 더 큰 것을 특징으로 하는 단일 채널 자기 헤드.
- 제 1항 내지 3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 헤드면까지 연장되는 전기 전도성인 제 3 자기 소자가 상기 헤드면까지 연장되지 않는 제 2 자기 소자와 함께 제공되어 상기 자기 저항 측정 소자에 의해 브리지되는 비자기 공간을 한정하며, 상기 자기 저항 측정 소자는 상기 공간 옆에서 상기 제 2 및 제 3 자기 소자와 전기 접촉하고, 전기 전도성인 갭 층이 상기 제 1 자기 소자와 거의 상기 헤드면까지 연장되는 상기 제 3 자기 소자를 전기적으로 상호접속하는 것을 특징으로 하는 단일 채널 자기 헤드.
- 제 1 내지 3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 자기 저항 측정 소자와 상기 제 2 자기 소자는 상기 헤드면까지 연장되고, 상기 헤드면 근방에 위치된 상기 자기 저항 측정 소자의 일부분은 상기 제 1 자기 소자 또는 제 2 자기 소자와 전기접촉하고, 상기 헤드면으로부터 공간을 두고 떨어져 있는 자기 저항 측정 소자의 일부분은 상기 자기 소자들 중 다른 한 자기 소자와 전기접촉하는 것을 특징으로 하는 단일 채널 자기 헤드.
- 제 1항 내지 5항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 및 제 2 자기 소자들의 접속면들은 상기 헤드면까지 연장되는 자기 소자의 제 2 방향으로의 폭에 의해 결정되는 상기 제 2 방향의 폭을 가지는 영역 내에 위치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 단일 채널 자기 헤드.
- 제 1항 내지 제 6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 및 제 2 자기 소자들의 접속면들은 관련 소자들 상에 위치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 단일 채널 자기 헤드.
- 자기 기록 매체를 스캐닝하는 장치로서,제 1항 내지 제 7항 중 어느 한 항에서 청구된 단일 채널 자기 헤드를 포함하는 자기 기록 매체 스캐닝 장치.
