Claims (16)
- 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스에 있어서, 각 픽셀이 복수의 전자 발광(electroluminescent) 디스플레이 소자들을 갖는, 상기 픽셀들의 매트릭스 어레이와, 구동 수단으로 인가된 구동 신호들에 따라 상기 복수의 디스플레이 소자들의 각각을 통해 전류를 제어하기 위한 상기 구동 수단을 포함하며, 상기 복수의 디스플레이 소자들 및 각각의 픽셀의 상기 구동 수단은 직렬 배열로 연결되는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 직렬 배열은 제 1 및 제 2 공급 라인들 사이에서 연결되는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 픽셀들은 로우들과 컬럼들로 배열되고, 픽셀들의 각 로우는 연관된 선택 라인을 갖고 픽셀들의 각 컬럼은 연관된 데이터 라인을 가지며, 각 픽셀은 어드레스 기간동안 인가된 로우 선택 신호에 응답하여 상기 연관된 선택 라인에 의해 제어되는 어드레싱 스위치를 더 포함하는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제 3 항에 있어서, 각각의 상기 구동 수단은 그의 게이트가 그의 각각의 어드레싱 스위치를 통해 그의 연관된 데이터 라인에 연결되어, 구동 신호가 그의 각각의 어드레스 기간동안 상기 게이트로 인가되는 구동 트랜지스터를 포함하는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제 4 항에 있어서, 상기 구동 신호는 상기 게이트로 인가되기 전에 변경되는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제 4 항 또는 제 5 항에 있어서, 각각의 상기 픽셀은 어드레스 기간 다음에 그의 각각의 구동 트랜지스터의 상기 게이트에 상기 구동 신호에 의해 결정된 게이트 전압을 저장하기 위한 커패시턴스를 더 포함하는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 6 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 직렬 배열의 각각의 디스플레이 소자는 상기 각각의 디스플레이 소자를 통해 상기 전류 흐름을 개별적으로 제어하기 위한 연관된 제어 수단을 갖는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제 7 항에 있어서, 각 제어 수단은 그의 전류 전달 단자들이 그의 각각의 디스플레이 소자와 병렬로 연결되고, 그의 게이트는 제어 신호가 어드레스 기간동안 분로 트랜지스터의 게이트로 인가되도록 동작가능한 제어 스위치를 통해 각각의 제어 라인과 연결되는 상기 분로(shunt) 트랜지스터를 포함하는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제 8 항에 있어서, 상기 분로 트랜지스터의 상기 게이트는 상기 대응 제어 신호에 의해 결정된 게이트 전압을 저장하기 위해 연관된 커패시턴스를 갖는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제 9 항에 있어서, 상기 분로 트랜지스터들의 상기 게이트들과 연관된 상기 커패시턴스들의 각각은 고정된 기준 전위와 연결되는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제 9 항 또는 제 10 항에 있어서, 상기 제어 신호는 그의 OFF 상태와 ON 상태 사이에서 상기 분로 트랜지스터를 스위치하기에 효율적인 디지털 신호를 포함하는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제 9 항에 있어서, 상기 분로 트랜지스터들의 상기 게이트들과 연관된 상기 커패시턴스들의 각각은 상기 게이트와 그들의 각각의 분로 트랜지스터들의 전류 전달 단자 사이에서 연결되는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제 8 항, 제 9 항 또는 제 12 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 제어 신호는 값들의 지속적인 범위 내의 상기 각각의 디스플레이 소자를 통해 상기 전류 흐름을조절하는데 효율적인 아날로그 신호를 포함하는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제 13 항에 있어서, 상기 분로 트랜지스터의 상기 전류 전달 단자들은 상기 어드레스 기간동안 고정된 기준 전위로 유지되는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 14 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 각 픽셀은 같이 직렬로 연결된 상기 동일한 컬러의 출력의 복수의 전자 발광 디스플레이 소자들을 포함하는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제 7 항 내지 제 14 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 각 픽셀은 함께 직렬로 연결된, 각각이 상이한 컬러 출력인 3개의 전자 발광 디스플레이 소자들을 포함하는, 액티브 매트릭스 전자 발광 디스플레이 디바이스.
