Abstract
Description
Claims (15)
- 적어도 하나의 상호접속 탭을 갖는 광학 장치로서,전기-광학(electro-optic) 재료가 사이에 충전되는 갭을 갖는 한쌍의 대향 기판들과 - 상기 기판들 각각은 기판 전극이 배치되는 대향면을 가짐 -,상기 한쌍의 대향 기판들 사이에 상기 전기-광학 재료를 포함하도록 배치되는 실링 재료(sealing material)와,상기 기판들 사이에 개재되는 적어도 하나의 상호접속 탭을 포함하고, 상기 탭은,대향면을 갖는 인슐레이터층과,상기 면 각각 상의 탭 전극층을 포함하고,상기 탭 전극층 각각은, 대응 기판 전극과 콘택트 하고, 상기 인슐레이터층의 선택된 부분 상에서 상기 한쌍의 대향 기판으로부터 연장하는 부분을 포함하는 광학 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 인슐레이터층은 대향 측면 에지를 포함하고, 상기 부분 각각은 하나의 대향 측면 에지 근처에 상기 부분 중 하나만이 상기 측면 에지를 따라 존재하도록 배치되는 광학 장치.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 인슐레이터층 각각의 표면 상에 전극 패드를 더 포함하고, 상기 전극 패드 각각은 하나의 대향 측면 에지 근처에 상기 전극 패드 중 하나만이 각 측면 에지를 따라 존재하도록 배치되는 광학 장치.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 전극 패드 각각은 상기 부분과 대향하는, 상기 인슐레이터층의 일측 상에 배치되는 광학 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 인슐레이터층, 상기 부분 및 상기 전극 패드는 이들을 관통하여 연장하는 적어도 하나의 비아(via)를 포함하는 광학 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 비아는, 상기 레그 부분에 대향하는 상기 전극 패드가 서로 전기적으로 접속되도록, 전기 도전성인 광학 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 탭 전극층의 적어도 일부분 상에 배치되는 도전성 접착제를 더 포함하는 광학 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 인슐레이터층은, 상기 기판으로부터 연장하는 터미널 에지와 대향하는 상기 한쌍의 대향 기판 사이에 수납되는 렌즈 에지를 갖는 광학 장치.
- 제8항에 있어서,상기 탭 전극층은 L자형이고, 상기 부분은 상기 렌즈 에지를 따라 상기 터미널 에지로 연장하는 광학 장치.
- 제9항에 있어서,상기 L자형 탭 전극층 각각은 상기 렌즈 에지를 따라 실질적으로 연장하는 제1 레그와, 상기 제1 레그로부터 상기 터미널 에지 방향으로 연장하는 제2 레그를 포함하는 광학 장치.
- 제10항에 있어서,상기 인슐레이터층은 상기 렌즈 에지로부터 상기 터미널 에지로 연장하는 대향 측면 에지를 포함하는 광학 장치.
- 제11항에 있어서,상기 제2 레그 각각은 상기 대향 측면 에지 중 하나를 따라 배치되는 광학 장치.
- 제12항에 있어서,상기 인슐레이터층 각각의 표면 상에서 상기 터미널 에지와 상기 대향 측면 에지 중 하나에 근접하여 배치되는 전극 패드를 더 포함하는 광학 장치.
- 제13항에 있어서,상기 전극 패드 각각은 상기 절연층 표면 중 상기 제2 레그에 대향하는 일측 상에 배치되는 광학 장치.
- 제14항에 있어서,상기 절연층, 상기 제2 레그 및 상기 전극 패드는 이들을 관통하는 적어도 하나의 전기 도전성 비아를 포함하는 광학 장치.
