Description
도 2는 4차 아민 중합체 분산액의 사이징 결과 및 황산 알루미늄 및 알킬 케텐 이량체(AKD) 분산액을 갖는 4차 아민 중합체 분산액의 제제를 도시한다. AKD는 중합체 크기의 용량 계산에 포함된다.
Cobb 값이 낮으면 낮을수록 사이징 성능은 더 양호하다.

Claims (17)
- 금속이 적어도 3가 전자를 갖는 금속염 및 수성 중합체 분산액을 포함하는 표면 사이징 조성물로서, 상기 수성 중합체 분산액은 자유 라디칼 에멀젼 공중합용 제1 자유 라디칼 개시제를 포함하는 수용성 레독스 시스템의 존재 하에 하기를 포함하고
(a) 0 내지 75 중량%의 적어도 하나의 선택적으로 치환된 스티렌,
(b) 15 내지 100 중량%의 적어도 하나의 C1-C4-알킬 (메트)아크릴레이트, 및
(c) 0 내지 10 중량%의 다른 에틸렌성 불포화 공중합성 단량체,
합 (a)+(b)+(c)는 100%인 제1 에틸렌성 불포화 단량체 블렌드를 자유 라디칼 에멀젼 공중합함으로써 수득 가능한 수성 중합체 분산액(A),
및
제2 자유 라디칼 개시제의 존재 하에 C1-C6-카르복실산 및 C1-C6-카르복실산 무수물을 포함하는 중합 용매 중에서 하기를 포함하고
(i) N,N,N-트리(C1-C4-알킬)아미노 C1-C4-알킬(메트)아크릴레이트와 미네랄산 또는 유기산의 4차 염 및/또는 N,N,N-트리(C1-C4-알킬)아미노 C1-C4-알킬(메트)아크릴아미드와 미네랄산 또는 유기산의 4차 염으로부터 선택된 5 내지 50 중량%의 적어도 하나의 에틸렌성 불포화 4차 아민,
(ii) N,N-디(C1-C4-알킬)아미노 C1-C4-알킬(메트)아크릴레이트 및/또는 N,N-디(C1-C4-알킬)아미노 C1-C4-알킬(메트)아크릴아미드로부터 선택된 0 내지 40 중량%, 바람직하게는 0 중량%의 적어도 하나의 에틸렌성 불포화 3차 아민,
(iii) 10 내지 95 중량%의 적어도 하나의 선택적으로 치환된 스티렌,
(iv) 0 내지 50 중량%의 적어도 하나의 C1-C4-알킬 (메트)아크릴레이트, 및
(v) 0 내지 10 중량%의 다른 에틸렌성 불포화 공중합성 단량체,
합 (i)+(ii)+(iii)+(iv)+(v)는 100%인 제2 에틸렌성 불포화 단량체 블렌드를 자유 라디칼 에멀젼 공중합하고,
수득된 중합체 분산액에 물을 첨가하여 수성 예비중합체 조성물을 수득함으로써 수득될 수 있는 수성 예비중합체 조성물(B)인, 표면 사이징 조성물. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 에틸렌성 불포화 4차 아민(i)은 [2-(메타크릴로일옥시)에틸]트리메틸-암모늄 클로라이드 또는 [2-(아크릴로일옥시)에틸]-트리메틸암모늄클로라이드인 조성물. - 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,
상기 C1-C6-카르복실산은 아세트산이고; 및/또는 상기 C1-C6-카르복실산 무수물은 아세트산 무수물인 조성물. - 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
단량체 성분(b) 및 상기 단량체 성분(iv)은 각각 적어도 2 개의 이성질체 부틸 아크릴레이트의 혼합물인 조성물. - 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
단량체 성분(b)은 터트-부틸 아크릴레이트 및/또는 터트-부틸 메타크릴레이트인 조성물. - 제1항 내지 제5항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
상기 수용성 레독스 시스템은 과산화수소 및 세륨, 망간 및 철(II)로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 적어도 하나의 금속 이온의 조합인 조성물. - 제1항 내지 제6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
상기 금속염의 금속은 망간, 철 및 알루미늄 및 이들의 임의의 조합으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되고/되거나 상기 금속염은 0.1 내지 70 중량%의 건조 함량의 표면 사이징 조성물을 구성하는 조성물. - 제7항에 있어서,
상기 금속염은 탄산염, 폼산염, 아세트산염, 질산염, 황산염, 브롬화물 및 염화물, 및 이들의 임의의 조합으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되고; 황산 알루미늄, 알룸, 염화 알루미늄, 질산 알루미늄, 폴리황산 알루미늄(PAS), 폴리염화 알루미늄(PAC), 및 폴리염화 황산 알루미늄 (PACS), 폴리폼산 알루미늄, 폴리질산 알루미늄, 및 이들의 임의의 조합으로 이루어진 군으로부터 바람직하게 선택되고; 바람직하게는 폴리황산 알루미늄, 황산 알루미늄, 및/또는 폴리염화 알루미늄인 조성물. - 제1항 내지 제8항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
상기 사이징 조성물은 바람직하게는 전분, 효소적으로 분해된 전분, 및 산화적으로 분해된 전분, 및 이들의 유도체로부터 선택된 천연 또는 개질된 다당류, 또는 이들의 유도체를 더 포함하는 조성물. - - 금속이 적어도 3가의 전자를 갖는 금속염을 제공하는 단계,
- 수성 중합체 분산액을 제공하는 단계, 및
- 상기 금속염 및 중합체 분산액을 혼합하여 제지에 사용될 표면 사이징 조성물을 제공하는 단계를 포함하는, 제1항 내지 제9항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 표면 사이징 조성물의 제조 방법. - 제10항에 있어서,
상기 수성 중합체 분산액은
제2 자유 라디칼 개시제의 존재 하에 C1-C6-카르복실산 및 C1-C6-카르복실산 무수물을 포함하는 중합 용매 중에서 하기를 포함하고,
(i) N,N,N-트리(C1-C4-알킬)아미노 C1-C4-알킬(메트)아크릴레이트와 미네랄산 또는 유기산의 4차 염 및/또는 N,N,N-트리(C1-C4-알킬)아미노 C1-C4-알킬(메트)아크릴아미드와 미네랄산 또는 유기산의 4차 염으로부터 선택된 5 내지 50 중량%의 적어도 하나의 에틸렌성 불포화 4차 아민,
(ii) N,N-디(C1-C4-알킬)아미노 C1-C4-알킬(메트)아크릴레이트 및/또는 N,N-디(C1-C4-알킬)아미노 C1-C4-알킬(메트)아크릴아미드로부터 선택된 0 내지 40 중량%의 적어도 하나의 에틸렌성 불포화 3차 아민,
(iii) 10 내지 95 중량%의 적어도 하나의 선택적으로 치환된 스티렌,
(iv) 0 내지 50 중량%의 적어도 하나의 C1-C4-알킬 (메트)아크릴레이트, 및
(v) 0 내지 10 중량%의 다른 에틸렌성 불포화 공중합성 단량체,
합 (i)+(ii)+(iii)+(iv)+(v)는 100%인 제2 에틸렌성 불포화 단량체 블렌드를 자유 라디칼 에멀젼 중합하는 단계,
수득된 중합체 조성물에 물을 첨가하여 수성 예비중합체 조성물(B)를 수득하는 단계, 및
상기 수성 예비중합체 조성물(B) 및 자유 라디칼 에멀젼 공중합을 위한 제1 자유 라디칼 개시제를 포함하는 수용성 레독스 시스템의 존재 하에 하기를 포함하고
(a) 0 내지 75 중량%의 적어도 하나의 선택적으로 치환된 스티렌,
(b) 15 내지 100 중량%의 적어도 하나의 C1-C4-알킬 (메트)아크릴레이트, 및
(c) 0 내지 10 중량%의 다른 에틸렌성 불포화 공중합성 단량체,
합 (a)+(b)+(c)는 100%인 제1 에틸렌성 불포화 단량체 블렌드를 공중합하여,
수성 중합체 분산액(A)을 수득하는 단계에 의해 수득되는, 방법. - - 제1항 내지 제9항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 표면 사이징 조성물을 제공하는 단계,
- 제지 공정의 헤드박스(headbox) 이후에 종이 제품 상에 상기 조성물을 도포하는 단계를 포함하는, 종이 제품을 제조하는 방법. - 제12항에 있어서,
상기 조성물은 시트 형성의 개시 시 또는 개시 이후, 바람직하게는 사이즈 프레스에서 도포되는 방법. - 제1항 내지 제9항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 표면 사이징 조성물의 셀룰로오스 제품의 표면 사이징을 위한 용도.
- 제1항 내지 제9항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 표면 사이징 조성물의 제지 공정에서의 용도.
- 제1항 내지 제9항 중 어는 한 항에 따른 표면 사이징 조성물로 표면 사이징된 셀룰로오스 제품.
- 제16항에 있어서,
상기 셀룰로오스 제품은 종이, 판지, 마분지, 카톤, 외장용 골판지, 및 섬유판으로부터 선택되는 셀룰로오스 제품.
