- 제1 캐리어 필름(14),
- 적어도 하나의 절연선(16)에 의해 적어도 두 개의 세그먼트(17)로 분할되는 제1 평면 전극(12),
- 활성층(11),
- 제2 평면 전극(13), 및
- 제2 캐리어 필름(15)으로 구성된 적층 시퀀스를 포함하는 복수의 측면 에지들(4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4)을 갖는 전기적으로 제어 가능한 광학 특성들을 갖는 기능 요소(5)에서,
- 제1 영역의 제1 측면 에지(4.1) 상에서, 제2 캐리어 필름(15), 제2 평면 전극(13), 및 활성층(11)은 제1 컷백(20)을 가지며 제2 영역에서, 제1 캐리어 필름(14), 제1 평면 전극(12), 및 활성층(11)은 제2 컷백(cutback)(21)을 갖고,
- 제1 버스 바들(18)의 그룹은 제1 평면 전극(12)과 전기 전도성으로 접촉하며, 제1 평면 전극(12)의 각각의 세그먼트(17)는 제1 버스 바들(18)의 그룹으로부터의 버스 바에 의해 전기 전도성으로 접촉하고,
- 적어도 하나의 제2 버스 바(19)는 제2 평면 전극(13)과 전기 전도성으로 접촉하고,

제1 버스 바들(18) 및 제2 버스 바들(19)은 바람직하게는 은을 함유하는 전기 전도성 구조를 포함하며, 5 μm 내지 40μm의 두께를 갖는, 기능 요소(5). - 제1항 내지 제5항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,

중간층(3)은 기능 요소(5)와 제1 판유리(1) 사이에 배열된 제1 열가소성 접합 필름(6)을 가지며, 기능 요소(5)와 제2 판유리(2) 사이에 배열된 제2 열가소성 접합 필름(7)을 갖는, 복합 판유리(100). - 제9항 또는 제10항에 있어서,
복합 판유리(100)는 전면 루프 에지(D), 후면 루프 에지(D'), 및 두 개의 측면 에지들(S)을 포함하는 자동차의 루프 패널이고, 기능 요소(5)는 루프 패널의 대면적 음영으로 설계되었으며, 기능 요소(5)는 복합 판유리(100)에 배열되어 기능 요소(5)의 제1 측면 에지(4.1)가 전면 루프 에지(D)에 평행하게 및/또는 후면 루프 에지(D')에 평행하게 정렬되며 기능 요소(5)의 제1 측면 에지(4.1)가 전면 루프 에지(D) 또는 후면 루프 에지(D')에 인접하게 정렬되는, 복합 판유리(100). - 제9항 또는 제10항에 있어서,
복합 판유리(100)는 엔진 에지(M), 전면 루프 에지(D), 및 두 개의 측면 에지들(S)을 포함하는 자동차의 앞유리이고, 기능 요소(5)는 전면 루프 에지(D) 부근에서 선바이저(sun visor)로 설계되었으며, 기능 요소(5)는 복합 판유리(100)에 배열되어 기능 요소(5)의 제1 측면 에지(4.1)가 루프 에지(D)에 평행하고 인접하게 정렬되는, 복합 판유리(100). - 복수의 측면 에지들(4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4)을 갖는 전기적으로 제어 가능한 광학 특성들을 갖는 제1항 내지 제8항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 기능 요소(5)를 제조하는 방법에서, 적어도

b) 제1 평면 전극(12)을 적어도 두 개의 세그먼트들(17)로 분할하는 적어도 하나의 절연선(16)이 기능 요소(5)의 제1 평면 전극(12) 내로 도입되고,
c) 제1 영역의 제1 측면 에지(4.1) 상에, 제2 캐리어 필름(15), 제2 평면 전극(13), 및 활성층(11)에 제1 컷백(20)이 제공되고, 제2 영역에서, 제1 캐리어 필름(14), 제1 평면 전극(12), 및 활성층(11)이 제2 컷백(21)이 제공되고,
