본 발명은 스캐너로 부터 스캐닝된 데이타를 호스트 컴퓨터의 하드디스크에 세이브함과 동시에 그데이타를 버퍼 메모리에 저장하고 스캐닝된 데이타를 압축하여 압축된 데이타를 버퍼에 저장하는 것으로서 특히 멀티 프로세서로 구성된 문서 인식 시스템에 적당 하도록한 문서 데이타 입력장치에 관한 것이다.
종래의 스캐너 인터페이스 구성은 제1도와 같이 호스트 컴퓨터(100)스캐너 인터페이스(Programable Peripherial Interface)부(101)스캐너(102)로 구성된다.
상기의 종래 장치에서는 먼저 호스트 컴퓨터(100)에서 스캐너 인터페이스 (101)의 레지스터 값을 입력하여 스캐너 인터페이스(101)의 모드를 설정하여 스캐너 (102)의 데이타를 스캐너 인터페이스(101)를 거쳐 받아들이고 이 데이타를 하드디스크에 세이브 하였다가 필요할때에 하드디스크의 데이타를 호스트 컴퓨터가 프로세싱하므로서 스캐닝된 데이타를 사용자의 목적에 맞게 프로세싱을 하게된다. 그런데 상기와 같은 장치에서는 스캐닝된 데이타는 호스트 컴퓨터에 내장되어 있어 다른 프로세서가 그 데이타를 필요로할때 필요로 하는 곳으로 다시 전송해 주어야하는 불편함이 있었고 호스트 컴퓨터의 일처리 효율면에서도 떨어지는 단점이 있었다.
본 발명은 이러한 단점을 해결하기 위한 것으로 첨부도면을 참조하여 상세히 설명하면 다음과 같다.
본 발명의 시스템 구성을 보면 스캐너(200)와 스캐너 인터페이스부(201) 및 호스터 컴퓨터(202)와 마이크로 프로세서(303)와 인터페이스부(204)와 글로우블 및 로우컬 메모리(205,206)으로 구성되고, 제3도에서 스캐너 인터페이스부의 구성을 상세히 설명하면, 호스트 컴퓨터(PC)(202)의 I/O 슬룻트(퍼스날 컴퓨터 입/출력 슬로트) (300)와 4입력-1출력 앤드게이트(301), 데이타를 래치하여 출력 인에이블 일때 데이타를 내보내주는 래치(302)와 로우컬 및 글로우블 메모리(Local 및 Global Memory)(205,206)가 외부로 연결되어 있는 마이크로 프로세서(303)와 호스트 컴퓨터(202)(PC)의 프로그램으로 제어가 가능한 인터페이스 회로 (PIP)(Programable Peripherial Interface:8255A칩(304)와, 플립플롭(305,306) 2입력 오아게이트 (307,305) 단일방향 버퍼(309) 스캐너(200)와 연결시켜주는 콘넥터(310)로 구성된다.
상기 구성장치의 동작상태를 설명하면, 먼저 호스트 컴퓨터(202) I/O 슬로트 (300)의 I/O 단자3을 통해서 인터페이스 회로(304)의 모드를 선택하기 위하여 데이타 라인을 통하여 데이타 값 A0(Hex)를 내보냄으로서 인터페이스 회로(304)를 모드 1로 선택한다.
I/O 슬로트(300)의 콘트롤 단자인 I/O 단자2를 통해서 인터페이스 회로(304)의 PC4단자를 '하이'로 만든다.
이때 인터페이스 회로(304)의 PC4단자가 '하이'이므로 버퍼(309)가 게이팅 (Gating)되어 인터페이스 회로(304)의 PA0∼PA7단자로 부터의 데이타가 스캐너 콘넥터(310)의 D1∼D8단자에 연결되므로 스캐너(200)는 프리세트 모드가 되어 호스트 컴퓨터(202)로 부터 정보데이타(문서 크기, Pixel intensity)를 받아들이며, 이때 호스트 컴퓨터(202)는 I/O슬로트(300)의 I/O단자0로 데이타를 전송하게 된다.
호스트 컴퓨터(202)는 각종 정보데이타의 전송을 마치면 I/O단자2를 통해 인터페이스 회로(304)의 PC4단자를 '로우'로 만들어 스캐너(200)가 스캐닝 모드가 되도록한다.
이때 버퍼(309)의 G단자가 '하이'가 되므로 버퍼(309)가 동작되지 않게되고 인터페이스 회로(304) PB0∼PB7의 데이타 라인이 스캐너(200)의 데이타 라인에 연결되게 된다.
여기서 최초의 파워를 켜면 호스트 컴퓨터(202)의 I/O 슬로트(300)리세트 드라이브단(RS DRV)이 '하이'가 되어 인터페이스 회로(304)를 리세트 시키고 플립플롭 (305)이 세트되어 플립플롭(305)의 출력은 '하이'로 되므로 마이크로 프로세서(303)의 인터럽트 단자(

)가 '하이'가 되어 인터럽트가 걸리지 않게된다.
또한 I/O 슬로트(300)의 리세트 드라이브단(RS DRV)이 '하이'이므로 플립플롭(306)이 클리어 되어 플립플롭(306)의 출력은 '로우'가 되어 오아게이트 (307,308)로 인가되는데 스캐너(200)의 콘넥터(310)를 통해 출력되는 스캐너의 스트로보(액티브 '로우')시그날이 오아게이트(307)에 연결되어 있으므로 스캐너(200)의 스트로보 신호가 인터페이스 회로(304)의 PC2단자에 바로 연결되게 된다.
한편 스캐너(200)는 스트로보를 '로우'로 하고 데이타 라인 D1∼D8을 거쳐 스캐닝된 데이타를 인터페이스 회로(304)의 PB0∼PB7 단자를 통하여 전송한다. 한편 인터페이스 회로(304)는 PC2단자가 '로우'일때 데이타를 래치하므로 스캐닝된 픽셀 데이타(Rixel Data)를 래치하고 PC1단자(Input Buffer Full)는 자동으로 '하이 '가 된다.
그리고 호스트 컴퓨터(202)는 I/O 슬로트(300)의 I/O 단자2를 통해 인터페이스 회로(304)의 PC1단자의 데이타가 '하이'인가를 계속 체크하여 '하이'이면 I/O단자 1로 인터페이스회로(304) PB0∼PB7단자의 데이타를 읽어들여 호스트 컴퓨터(202)는 스캐닝된 픽셀 데이타를 가져오게 된다.
한편 인터페이스회로(304)의 PC1단자가 '하이'이면 오아게이트(308)의 출력이 '하이'가 되어 스캐너(200) 콘넥터(310)의 BY단자가 '하이'가 되어 스캐너(200)는 BY 단자가 '로우'로 될때까지 스캐닝된 데이타를 인터페이스 회로(304)로 전송하지 않게 된다.
호스트 컴퓨터(202) I/O 슬로트(300)의 I/O단자1은 래치(302)의 클락단 (CK)으로 연결되고 플립플롭(305)의 클리어 단자(CLR) 및 플립플롭(306)의 세트단자(PS)에 연결되어 있으므로 I/O단자 1이 '하이'이면 스캐닝된 입력데이타가 래치(302)에 래치되고 플립플릅(305)의 출력이 '로우'로 마이크로 프로세서(303)의 인터럽트단(

)로 연결되어 마이크로 프로세서(303)에 인터럽트를 걸게되며, 이때 플립플롭(306)의 출력은 '하이'로 오아게이트(308)로 인가된다.
따라서 호스트 컴퓨터가 스캐닝된 데이타를 읽어 갔지만 오아게이트(308)의 출력 즉 스캐너(200)이 콘넥터(310)의 BY단자가 '하이'이므로 스캐너는 다음 픽셀 데이타를 전송하지 못하고, 이때 마이크로 프로세서(303)는 인터럽트가 걸려 왔으므로 IACK단자(Interrupt acknowledge)로 신호를 발생하게 되고 이 신호가 플립를롭 (305)의 클락으로 연결되어 있으므로 플립플롭(305) D입력단의 '하이'신호(5V)가 출력에 나타나서 계속적으로 마이크로 프로세서(303)가 인터럽트되지 않게 한다.
한편 제4도와 같은 마이크로 프로세서(303)의 인터럽트 서비스 루틴에서 단자6을 통해 래치(302)에 래치된 데이타를 받아들이고 이것을 자기의 글로우블 메모리(205)에 세이브하고 입력된 데이타를 압축(Compress)한후 로우컬 메모리(206)에 세이브하므로서 스캐너(200)의 데이타를 호스트 컴퓨터(202)및 마이크로 프로세서 (303)가 동시에 데이타를 리드(Read)할 수 있다.
그리고 마이크로 프로세서(303)는 입력된 픽셀 데이타의 프로세싱을 모두 마치면 단자 5로 임의의 데이타를 출력하는데 이 단자 5의 출력 시그날이 바로 플립플롭 (306)의 클락에 연결되어 있으므로 단자 5의 출력 시그날의 라이징 에지(Rising Edge)에 의해 플립플롭(306)의 출력이 '로우'가 되어 스캐너(200)는 콘넥터(310)의 BY단자가 '로우'가 되므로 스캐너(200)는 다음 스캐닝된 데이타를 인터페이스 회로(304)에 전달하게 된다. 상기 방법을 반복적으로 수행하므로서 A4사이즈의 전문서 데이타를 호스트 컴퓨터(202)및 마이크로 프로세서(303)가 동시에 문서 데이타를 읽어들이게 된다.
따라서 일반적으로 멀티 플렉싱 시스템에서 스캐너의 데이타를 읽어들이 프로세서가 아닌 다른 프로세서가 스캐닝된 오리지날 데이타를 필요로 할경우 스캐닝된 데이타를 다른 프로세서에 전송시켜 주어야 했으나 본 발명에서는 동시에 2개의 프로세서가 스캐닝된 데이타를 받아들이므로서 하나의 프로세서만 스캐닝 할때 데이타를 다른 프로세서에 전송하는 시간을 단축시키는 효과가 있다.

Claims (2)

  1. 스캐너(200)를 통해 읽어들인 데이타를 받아들이기 위한 제어를 하는 호스트 컴퓨터(202)와, 상기 호스트 컴퓨터(202)의 모드에 따라 인터페이스회로(304)의 모드를 모드를 선택할수 있게 하는 앤드게이트(301)와, 상기 호스트 컴퓨터(202)를 통해 스캔된 데이타를 마이크로 프로세서(303)가 악세스하게 하는 래치(302)와, 상기 호스트 컴퓨터(202)의 데이타에 따라 인터럽트 발생 제어신호를 마이크로 프로세서(303)로 보내는 플립플롭(305)과, 상기 플립플롭(305)의 제어에 따라 래치(302)의 데이타를 저장하고 시스템 제어를 행하는 마이크로 프로세서(303)와, 상기 마이크로 프로세서(303)으로 부터의 인터럽트 신호 여부에 의해 스캔된 데이타를 호스트 컴퓨터(202)로 전송하게 할것인지의 여부를 제어하는 스캔 제어부(311)와, 상기 컴퓨터(202) 및 스캔 제어부(311)의 제어에 따라 컴퓨터(202)와 스캐너(200)의 콘넥터(310)를 인터페이스하는 인터페이스 회로부(304)와, 상기 인터페이스회로(304)로 부터의 신호를 스캐너 콘넥터(310)로 전달하는 버퍼(309)와, 인터페이스 회로(304)와 스캔 제어부 (311)의 제어에 의해 스캐너(200)로 부터의 스캔 된 데이타를 전송하는 스캐너 콘넥터부(310)를 포함하여 두개의 프로세서가 동시에 스캐너 데이타를 받아들이도록 구성된 것을 특징으로하는 스캐너의 문서 데이타 입력장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 스캔 제어부(311)은 마이크로 프로세서(303)의 인터럽트 발생신호가 있을시 하이를 출력하는 플립플롭(306)과, 상기 플립플롭(306)의 출력 및 스캐너 콘넥터(310)의 스트로보 단자를 각각 입력으로 하고 출력을 인터페이스 회로 (304)에 출력하는 오아게이트(307)와, 상기 플립플롭(306)의 출력 및 인터페이스회로(304)의 데이타 전송 여부확인 신호를 각각 입력으로 하고 그 출력을 스캐너 콘넥터 (310)에 연결하는 오아게이트(308)를 포함하여 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 스캐너의 문서 데이타 입력장치.
