Abstract

광 축(12)을 따라 한쌍의 대향한 광 섬유 커넥터를 상호 연결시키는 어댑터 조립체(10)가 제공된다. 일체식 어댑터 하우징(14)은 하우징의 양단부들 사이의 방향으로 연장한 축방향 공동(24)을 갖는다. 하우징의 일단부는 한 대향 광 섬유 커넥터쌍 중 제1커넥터와 함께 작동가능하게 결합된 제1상호 연결부(28)를 갖는다. 일체식 삽입체(16)는 어댑터 하우징(14)의 축방향 공동(24) 내에 장착되고 하우징의 대향 단부에서 대향 광 섬유 커넥터쌍 중 제2커넥터와 함께 작동가능하게 결합된 제2상호 연결부(44,46)를 포함한다.

Claims (13)

  1. 축방향 돌출 폐롤을 각각 구비한 케넥터를 양단부들에서 수납시키기 위한 이중 단부식 리셉터클로 구성되어, 광축을 따라 한쌍의 대향한 광 섬유 커넥터를 상호 연결하기 위한 어댑터 조립체에 있어서, 하우징의 양단부들 사이의 방향으로 연장된 축방향 공동을 갖고 일단부는 상기 쌍의 대향항 광 섬유 커넥터 중 제1커넥터와 함께 작동가능하게 결합된 제1상호 연결 수단을 갖도록 구성된 일체식 어댑터 하우징과, 어댑터 하우징의 축방향 공동내에 장착되고 하우징의 대향 단부에서 상기 쌍의 대향한 광 섬유 커넥터 중 제2커넥터와 함께 작동가능하게 결합된 제2상호 연결 수단을 갖도록 구성된 일체식 삽입체를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 어뎁터 하우징의 상기 대향 단부는 이를 통해 공동내의 삽입체와 상호 연결되도록 축방향 공동 안으로 삽입된 제2커넥터를 수납하기 위해 개방된 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 삽입체를 공동으로 사입시키는데 대응하여 자동적으로 삽입체를 축방향 공동내에 래치시키기 위하여 삽입체와 어댑터 하우징 사이에 보조 상호 맞물림 스냅식 래치 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 쌍의 대향한 광 섬유 커넥터의 페룰을 수납하여 동축으로 정렬시키도록 상기 일체식 삽입체내에 축방향으로 장착된 슬리브를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 어뎁터 하우징의 일단부의 상기 제1상호 연결 수단은 FC형 광 섬유 커넥터와 상호 연결 된기 위한 나사형 연결부를 포함하는 것을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 일체식 삽입체상의 상기 제2상호 연결 수단은 SC형 광 섬유 커텍터와 상호 연결되도록 푸시 풀형 연결부(push-pull-type commection)를 포함하는 것을 포함하는 것을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
  7. 제6에 있어서, 어댑터 하우징의 일반부의 상기 제1상호 연결 수단은 FC형 광섬유 커넥터와 상호 연결 된기 위한 나사형 연결부를 포함하는 것을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
  8. 축방향 돌출 폐롤을 각각 구비한 케넥터를 양단부들에서 수납시키기 위한 이중 단부식 리셉터클로 구성되어, 광축을 따라 한쌍의 대향한 광 섬유 커넥터를 상호 연결하기 위한 어댑터 조립체에 있어서, 하우징의 양단부들 사이의 방향으로 연장된 축방향 공동을 갖고 일단부는 FC형 광 섬유 커넥터와 상호 연결되도록 나사형 연결부를 갖고 어댑터 하우징의 반대쪽 단부는 이를 통해 SC형 광 섬유 커넥터를 수납하도록 개방된 일체식 어댑터 하우징과 , 어댑터 하우징의 축방향 공동내에 장착되고 어댑터 하우징의 반대쪽 단부를 통해 삽입된 SC형 광 섬유 커넥터와 상호 연결되도록 푸시 풀형 연결부를 갖는 일체식 삽입체를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
  9. 제8항에 있어서, 삽입체를 공동으로 삽입시키는데 대응하여 자동적으로 삽입체를 축방향 공동내에 래치시키기 위하여 삽입체와 어잽터 하우징 사이에 보조 상호 맞물림 스냅식 래치 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
  10. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 쌍의 대향한 광 섬유 커넥터의 페룰을 수납하여 동축으로 정렬시키기 위하여 상기 일체식 삽입체내에 축방향으로 장착된 슬리브를 포함하는 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
  11. 광 축을 따라 한쌍의 대향 광 섬유 커넥터를 상호 연결하기 위한 어댑터를 조립하는 방법에 있어서, 축방향 공동이 하우징의 양단부들 사이의 방향으로 연장되고 일단부가 상기 쌍의 대향한 광 섬유 커넥터 중 제1커넥터와 함께 작동가능하게 결합된 제1상호 연결 수단을 갖도록 구성된 일체식 어댑터 하우징을 제공하는 단계와, 상기 쌍의 대향 광 섬유 커넥터 중 제2커넥터와 함께 작동가능하게 결합된 제2상호 연결 수단을 구비한 일체식 삽입체를 제공하는 단계와, 하우징의 대향 단부에서 어댑터 하우징의 축방향 공동내에 삽입체를 장착시키는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
  12. 제11항에 있어서, 상기 일체식 삽입체는 이를 통해 공동내에서 삽입체와 상호 연결되도록 축방향 공동안으로 삽입가능한 제2커넥터를 수납하는 어댑터 하우징의 개방 단부를 통해 축방향 공동 내부로 삽입된 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
  13. 제11항에 있어서, 상기 일체식 삽입체는 삽입체를 공동으로 삽입시키는데 대응하여 자동적으로 축방향 공동 내부에 스냅 래치된 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 조립체.
