In actual use, the receptacle is suitably secured to the running board of an automobile. as illustrated in Fig. 1 so that with the table T in extended position, it will project laterally from the side of the running board and serve as a dining table or for any other desired purpose. The receptacle R is adapted to contain table ware and kitchen utensils ordil'iarily comprised in camping outfits. the flanges l6 rendering the receptacle dust proof and thus preventing contamination of its contents.

Although I have herein shown and. described only one form of receptacle and table embodying my invention. it is to beunderstood that various changes and modifications may be made herein withoutdcparting from the spirit of the invention and the spirit and scope of the appended claims.

What I claim is:

1. In combination. a receptacle comprisinga box and a. hinged lid having a lip formed on the forward edge thereof and projecting beyond the front of the box when the lid is in closed position, av table comprising leaves hingedly connected to nch other and to the front of the box in such manner that when in extended position a portion of one of the leaves engages said lip and when in folded position they are disposed beneath said hp.

In combination. a receptacle comprising a box and a hinged lid having a lip formed on the forward edge thereof and projecting beyond the front of the box when the lid is in closed position, a table comprising leaves hingedly connected to each other and to the front of the box in such manner that when in extended position a portion of one of the leaves engages said lip and when in folded position they are disposed beneath said lip, and means for supporting said leaves in extended position, comprising a pair of foldablcbrackets. and a sleeve for securing said brackets in extended position.

In combination. a receptacle comprising a box and ahinged lid having a lip formed on the forward edge thereof and pro jecting beyond the front of the box when the lid is in closed position. a table. comprising leaves hingedlv connected to each other and to the front of the box in such manner that when in extended position a portion of one of the leaves engages said lip and when in folded position they are disposed beneath said lip. means for supporting said leaves in extended position. comprising a pair of foldable brackets. and sleeves for securing said brackets in extended position. and means for locking said lid and leaves in closed position.

In combination, a receptacle comprising a box and a hinged lid having a lip formed on the forward edge thereof and pro jecting beyond the front of l llLllQX' when. the lid is in closed position, a table colnpris ing leaves hingedlv connected to each other and to the front of the box in such manner that when in extended position a portion of one of the leaves engages saidlip and when in folded position they are disposed beneath said lip, means for supporting said leaves in extended position. comprising a pair of foldable brackets. and sleeves for securing said brackets in extended position, a hasp hing edlv supported on said lid. and a staple secured to said lid, said staple being adapted to extend through said leaves and to engage said hasp for the purpose described.
