It is obvious that when; the door is rotated the heavy oil will be spread over the outer Wall `ofY the door 15, and the inner wall of the housing 10 to form an air seal between them.

as. stated, prevents waste of the oil when the veropen regions of the housing.
T he door 10 includes the top and bottom disktical grooves of the door are brought into the I shaped walls 28 and 29 that are integral withr the semi-circular Walls 30, spaced parallel walls 31 and center crosswalls 32. Thewalls 28, 29, 31 andf32are arranged to form oppositely arranged openend compartments 33 and 34 into which the blocks of ice 13 or otherarticles can beinserted and movedfrom `the outside to the inside of the enclosure, and normally the open ends of vthese-'compartments are held in register with the openings 35 and 36 in thehousing 10 by K the spring latch 37.
g The spring latch 37 is secured in a recess 38 in the bottom of the housingV 10 so that-normally it extends into one or the other of ,the indents 39, 40, and when so seated the openings. 33, 34 of the door are in register with the openings 35 and 36 of the housing. ,That is, when the latch 37 engages the indentf 39 the opening 33 is in register with the opening 35 and opening 34 registers with opening 36; and when the latch en- B gages the indent 40 the registering of the openings is reversed.;

Al roller` 43 is arranged below the opening 36 :in the housing 10 .to help carry the blocks of ice .overfonto the rollers 44 of the conveyor 42; and 'guides 45 are arranged on opposite sides ofthe opening 36 for the purpose of guiding the' blocks j as they are discharged.
The conveyor 42 is substantially like that shown in my patent application. hereinbefore mentioned.` It includes a support46 for the rollers 44 that also supports sprocket wheels 47, carrier Achains 48 andspacing roller 49 and the blocks of ice 13 move down the conveyor bygravity.

In` operation a block of ice `or like article is thrust into the compartment that is in register with the outer opening in the housing 10 and at the same time an arc .thrust is imparted through the block of ice to the door that is suiiicient to disengage the latch 37 and give the door a half turn.
In other'words, an operator on placing a block of ice in a compartment of the door also gives it an arc thrust either toward the right or left which, in addition to unlatching the door, will also 'cause it to turn a half revolution to another latching position, in which movement thev block of ice is transferred from the outside to theinside of the enclosure, and an empty compartment in the vdoor is moved to a filling position.` j
In this movement the outer wall of the door and inner wall of the housing are greased to form an air seal between them so Ythat the transfer of blocks of ice from the outside to the inside of the compartment is accomplished with great speed and also without materially changing theV temperature in the enclosure. v
I claim as my invention: y
l. An apparat-us for transferring articles from the outside to the inside of an enclosure in which an even temperature is to be maintained, including a split housing secured in a wall of said enclosure, upper and lower bearing seats in said housing, bearings therein, a revolving door,spindles to said door thatV are mounted in said bearings, and means for forming an oil seal `between the inner walls of said housing and the outer wall of said door, said means including an oil receptacle in communication with radial and vertical grooves-in the walls of `said housingand door.

An apparatusfor transferring 'articles from the outside'to the vinside of anenclosurein which an even temperature is to be maintained including a housing secured in the wall of lsaid enclosure, a door rotatably mounted in saidhousing, said door and housing havingl engaging Walls with radial and vertical oil channels arranged therein so that when the door is rotated said channels will spread lubricant over the inner walls` of said housingand the outer walls of said door to thereby forman air seal betweenfthem; and means for supplying the lubricant to said channels.
