Description
- The disclosure relates to whisker capturing devices and more particularly pertains to a new whisker capturing device for preventing the dispersal of whiskers over a wide area during shaving with an electric razor by capturing the whiskers adjacent to a person's face.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a panel that has a top side, a bottom side, a first edge, a second edge, a third edge and a fourth edge wherein the first and second edges are positioned opposite of each other. The panel is flexible and has an aperture therein extending through the top and bottom sides and positioned adjacent to the first edge. The first edge has a break therein extending through the first edge and through a perimeter of the aperture. The aperture receives a person's neck. A pair of tabs is attached to the panel between the aperture and the first edge and the tabs are overlapped to close the break between the first edge and the aperture. A closure is mounted on the tabs to releasably couple the tabs together. A pair of minor engageable couplers is attached to the panel and extends away from the bottom side.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a whisker catching assembly and method according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a top perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a top view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a side in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new whisker capturing device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 4 , the whisker catching assembly andmethod 10 generally comprises apanel 12 that has atop side 14, abottom side 16, afirst edge 18, asecond edge 20, athird edge 22 and afourth edge 24 wherein the first 18 and second 20 edges are positioned opposite of each other. Thepanel 12 is comprised of a flexible material which may include elastomers, cloth, canvas, leather, plastics and the like. Thepanel 12 is elongated from thefirst edge 16 to thesecond edge 18. Further, thepanel 12 has anaperture 26 therein extending through thetop 14 andbottom 16 sides that is positioned adjacent to thefirst edge 18. Thefirst edge 18 has abreak 28 therein extending through thefirst edge 18 and through a perimeter of theaperture 26 so that a person will have access to theaperture 26. In this manner theaperture 26 is configured to receive a person'sneck 30. Thepanel 12 has a length from thefirst edge 18 to thesecond edge 20 between 36 inches and 60 inches and a width from thethird edge 22 to theforth edge 24 between 24 inches and 42 inches. Theaperture 26 has a circumference between 14 inches and 22 inches. - A pair of
tabs 32 is attached to thepanel 12 between theaperture 26 and thefirst edge 18. Thetabs 32 overlap to close thebreak 28 between thefirst edge 18 and theaperture 26. Aclosure 34 is mounted on the tabs to releasably couple thetabs 32 together. Theclosure 34 includes afirst mating member 36 attached to one of thetabs 32 and asecond mating member 38 attached to another one of thetabs 32. The closer 34 may comprise a hook and loop closure. Though other closure means, such as a magnetic closure, may also be used. - A pair of
couplers 40 is attached to thepanel 12 and extends away from thebottom side 16. Thecouplers 40 are configured to releasably engage amirror 50. Each of thecouplers 40 comprises asuction cup 42 and amount 44 attached to thesuction cup 42. Themount 44 is attached to thepanel 12 and may be releasably attached to thepanel 12. For instance, themount 44 may include a hook extendable through one of a plurality of alignedopenings 46 extending through thepanel 12 and positioned adjacent to thesecond edge 20. The alignedopenings 46 include a first set of alignedopenings 48 positioned adjacent to thethird edge 22 and extending from thesecond edge 20 toward thefirst edge 18 and a second set of alignedopenings 49 positioned adjacent to thefourth edge 24 and extending from thesecond edge 20 toward thefirst edge 18. The alignedopenings 50 allow the user to selective determine the space between thecouplers 40, i.e. themirror 50, and theaperture 26, i.e. the person'sneck 30. The hooks, ormounts 44, each terminate with abulbous portion 52 to resist accidental removal from theopenings 46. - In use, the user places the
couplers 40 where desired on thepanel 12 and then attaches them to themirror 50 while also placing theirneck 30 in theaperture 26. Theclosure 34 is used to retain thepanel 12 on the user'sneck 30. The user then shaves in a conventional manner so their head is positioned over thetop side 14 to capturewhiskers 54 as the person is shaving. Once finished, the user may roll up or fold thepanel 12 and discard thewhiskers 54 in a waste bin or in the sink. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
