The figures are not necessarily to scale, some features may be exaggerated to show details of particular components. Therefore, specific structural and functional details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but merely as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to variously employ the present invention.
-
FIGS. 1-4 illustrate an exercise device having abox 1, aboard 2, ahinge 3, andlegs 4.FIG. 1 shows a front view of the exercise device with a user that has one foot on thebox 1 andboard 2, it also shows thehinge 3 connecting thebox 1 and theboard 2 at an angle.FIG. 2 shows a side view of the exercise device with a user that has one foot on thebox 1 andboard 2, it also shows thehinge 3 connecting thebox 1 and theboard 2 at an angle.FIG. 3 is an angled side view of the exercise device with a user that has one foot on thebox 1 andboard 2, it also shows thehinge 3 connecting thebox 1 and theboard 2 at an angle.FIG. 4 shows the exercise device with thebox 1 andboard 2 being separated from one another, it also shows thehinge 3 on thebox 1 and thelegs 4 of the box. - The Rogo exercise device was designed as a low impact rehabilitation and sports performance device that is composed of a
detachable slide board 2 and adjustable step upbox 1 attached together by ahinge 3. - The Rogo exercise device allows for numerous adjustments. The height of the step up
box 1 can be adjusted to multiple positions. Theslide board 2 can be adjusted to numerous angles relative to both the step up board and the ground. Theslide board 2 can also be removed from the step upbox 1 and be used flat on the ground. All of these various adjustments allow for numerous exercises and workouts. These various adjustments also allow for numerous levels of resistance based on gravity alone. - The step up
box 1 can also have an adjustable top surface area. The step upbox 1 can also have an adjustable width. The step up box can also be collapsible. The step upbox 1 can also be foldable. The various design options of the step upbox 1 also allow for compact or easy storage or shipping. - The
board 2 of the Rogo exercise device can also be adjusted. Theboard 2 can be designed to be telescopic. Theboard 2 could also be designed to be retractable. Theboard 2 can be designed to be collapsible. Theboard 2 can be designed to be foldable. All of these design variations would allow theboard 2 to have an adjustable length for performing different exercises. These design variation would also allow the board to have an adjustable width for performing different exercises. The adjustability of theboard 2 also allows the device to accommodate users with different sized bodies and body types. The various design options of theboard 2 also allow for compact or easy storage or shipping. - The step up
box 1 also features visual indicators, such as numbers, indicating the height the step upbox 1 is at, these number could be in any measuring system such as inches or centimeters. The step upbox 1 could also include visual indicators regarding the height of the step up box that correspond to a particular work out or skill level for the user. - The Rogo exercise device can also include visual indicators that tell the user the pitch the slide board is at relative to the top of the step up box. The Rogo exercise device can also include visual indicators that tell the user the pitch the slide board is at relative to the ground on which the device is placed.
- The Rogo exercise device can be utilized for rehabilitation of injuries, stretching prior to or after exercise or competition, strength training, and cardio vascular training. In most cases, the Rogo exercise device uses gravity as it main means of resistance. The Rogo exercise device also allows for the use of supplementary resistance pieces either free weight or as an attachment.
- The Rogo gives the user the ability to maintain perfect form throughout the movement by using its unique slide surface as an assist device or spotter. In addition, the
adjustable box 1 allows for increased assist or spot depending on the user's level of skill. - The major benefits of The Rogo are its flexibility allowing you to use it for a multitude of exercises and its reduction of stress on the joints like the knees and spine while allowing maximal muscle recruitment throughout the movement.
- For many individuals high stress on the joints make standard resistance training contraindicated especially when involving multi joint lower body movements. It is through the Rogo's design that it can significantly reduce or eliminate joint associated tension while maximizing the loading of the muscle.
- Numerous modifications and variations of the present invention are possible in light of the above teachings. It is therefore to be understood that within the scope of the attendant claims attached hereto, this invention may be practiced otherwise than as specifically disclosed herein.
