Abstract
Description
- This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 62/523,827 filed Jun. 23, 2017.
- The present invention is directed to a beverage drinking system and more particularly a beverage drinking system that tracks activity and stores accessories.
- Beverage containers are well-known in the art. With activities such as exercise, weight loss, and breast feeding, water intake is important. Also, when drinking alcohol, tracking consumption can be important. For example, for breast feeding there exist many challenges, both physical and mental.
- A new mother needs to be cognizant of water volume intake, breast side usage, nipple shields, creams, drops, pastes, pacifiers, and many other accessories in preparation for and while breast feeding. Anxiety over milk production is one of the biggest concerns for all breast feeding mothers.
- One of the keys to producing an adequate milk supply is constant hydration. Typically, one has a dedicated water bottle that is carried every day and night.
- While hydrating throughout the day, one frequently uses a variety of accessories that are scattered throughout a home. This can be frustrating if one sits down to feed only to realize a needed item has been left in another room.
- In addition, when it comes to monitoring and rotating current breast side indicators during feeding, it can be difficult to switch bra clips or wrist bands. Often one forgets to switch the indicator leading to confusion and frustration at the next feeding. Accordingly, there is a need in the art for a system that addresses these deficiencies.
- An objective of the present invention is to provide a beverage drinking system having a simple and easy to use indicator assembly.
- Another objective of the present invention is to provide a pocket for use with a beverage drinking system to hold needed supplies.
- These and other objectives will be apparent to those skilled in the art based upon the following written description, drawings, and claims.
- A beverage drinking system includes a container having a bottom wall and a side wall that form a hollow chamber with an opening at the top. A lid is adapted to selectively cover the opening of the hollow chamber. The lid has an indicator assembly that in one example includes an elongated slot and a marking member that is slidably and frictionally received within the slot. The lid also has markings associated with the slot.
- Attached to the container is a pocket or pouch for holding supplies related to the drinking beverage system. Preferably, the pocket is made of an elastic and resilient material and has an elongated slot positioned to receive and retain a projection that extends outwardly from an outer surface of the sidewall.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a beverage drinking system; -
FIG. 2 is a top plan view of a beverage drinking system; -
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a pocket for a beverage drinking system; and -
FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a beverage drinking system. - Referring to the Figures, a
beverage drinking system 10 includes a cup orcontainer 12 having abottom wall 14 and asidewall 16 that form ahollow chamber 18. Preferably thebottom wall 14 andsidewall 16 are made of a material and thickness that maintains the temperature of a beverage in thechamber 18 while preventing condensation buildup on the outside of thecup 12. - The outer surface of the
sidewall 16 of thecup 12 has a plurality of vertically spacedmarkings 20 that preferably have height from thebottom wall 14 equal to the volume within thechamber 18 at the designated marking 20. Also, attached to and extending outwardly from thesidewall 16 is ahandle 22. - A
top edge 24 of thecup 12 has a ridge and/orthreads 26 configured to receive alid 28 to cover thechamber 18. Thelid 28 is of any size, shape, or structure and preferably has anouter edge 30 that is configured to snap fit over theridge 26 of thecup 12. Alternatively, the inner surface ofedge 30 has threads that are threadably received by threads onridge 26. - Extending outwardly from a portion of
edge 30 is a tab 32 used to remove thelid 28. Further, atop wall 34 of thelid 28 has a first opening 36 sized to receive a straw and a second opening 38 to facilitate flow. - The
top wall 34 also has anindicator assembly 40. The indicator assembly is of any size, shape, and structure. In one example, theindicator assembly 40 has a slot orgroove 42 having a marking member 44 slidably and frictionally received within the slot. Associated with theslot 42 are markings orindicia 46 that indicate a quantity consumed, left or right, or any other information desired. - Attached to the
cup 12 is a pocket orpouch 48. The pocket orpouch 48 is of any size, shape and structure. In one example, thepocket 48 has anelongated strap 50 that is configured to connect at its ends in any conventional way. Between the ends of thestrap 50 thestrap 50 terminates into a downwardly extending first orback wall 52 havingouter edges 54 connected to and extending outwardly fromedges 54 is a second orouter wall 56 that forms ahollow compartment 58 with anopen top 60. Alternatively, the pocket orpouch 48 is made of a resilient material such as silicon or the like. Extending generally horizontally alongwall 52 is anelongated slot 62 that is positioned to frictionally or elastically receive and retain aprojection 64 of slightly greater size that extends outwardly from asidewall 16 of thecontainer 12. - In operation the
pocket 48 is attached to thecup 12 by wrapping thestrap 50 around thecup 12 and connecting the ends so that theback wall 56 of thepocket 48 engages the outer surface of thecup 12 and thepocket 48 is tightly secured to thecup 12. Thehollow compartment 58 is filled with desired items. - The
hollow chamber 18 of thecup 12 is filled with a desired beverage and thelid 28 is attached to thecup 12. Finally, theindicator assembly 40 is set by manually moving marking member 44 withinslot 42 to align with a desiredmarking 46. - Accordingly, a beverage drinking system has been disclosed that at the very least meets all the stated objectives.
- From the above discussion and accompanying figures and claims it will be appreciated that the
beverage drinking system 10 offers many advantages over the prior art. It will be appreciated further by those skilled in the art that other various modifications could be made to the device without parting from the spirit and scope of this invention. All such modifications and changes fall within the scope of the claims and are intended to be covered thereby. It should be understood that the examples and embodiments described herein are for illustrative purposes only and that various modifications or changes in the light thereof will be suggested to persons skilled in the art and are to be included in the spirit and purview of this application.
