Be it known-that I, THEoDoPeE HARCOURT, of Indianapolis, in the county of Marion, and State of Indiana, have invented a new and useful Skate Fastener; and I do hereby declare that the following is afull'and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of `reference marked thereon.

The nature of my invention consists in the peculiar construction and operation of the` same. `To enable others skilled in `the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe it construction and operation' as follows: e

Runner A, skateplate B, heel plateqC', with grooves, by which the rings E E are fastened whenfin use. Slotted heel screw D, connecting the runner A, skate plate B, and heel plate C. EE, rings connecting the instep strap F with the heel plate C, when in use. F, instep strap, to which are attached the rings E E, and the adjustable heel strap M. G, toe strap. H, knee, a support for `the middle of the skate plate B. L, toe of runner. A., when the same is fastened to the skate plate B, confining between them the toe strap Gr, by means of screw-sor otherwise. M, heel strap, adjustable on instep strap F, with which it is connected by means of loopsl or otherwise. N, stop, being a part of the skate plate B. K

W hat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

I. The heel plate C, with the-grooved ends C C, section I, made to receive the rings EE, of the instep strap F, as represented in the accompanying drawings.

II. The combination of the heel plate C, when attached to a skate runner and plate, as represented in section I, and the drawings. p y 1 III. The combination of the instep strap F, the back strap M, and the rings E E, when-constructed and used for the purposes substantially as set forth. A.
