TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, DANIEL B. HALL, of Bueksport, in the State of Maine, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Methods of Tying Bags; and I do hereby declare the following to be a fullnnd exact description of the some, reference being had to the drawings which accompany and form a part of these specifications, in whichv Figure I is a view of the perforated strap used.
Figure II viewof the same around the bag in the usual place of the string or ordinary bag tie.
Letter A, a leather strap; letter B, double metallic plate, with the oblong opening a through it, as in Fig. 1; letter (Z, small metallic tip, like shoe-lacing tip; letters 0 e e e, openings through the strapA, and, it' need be, eyelets inserted, as seen in Fig. I.
The manner of constructing my improved bag tie will be readily comprehended from the drawings.
To use it, I sew or otherwise fasten it to the bag at a point a short distance from the wide end, say at 9; then gathering up the mouth of the bag I pass the strap around, and putting the small end through the slot or opening 0, draw it up close, and passing the tip cl through the eyelet, close to the metallic plates 13, I draw it through more or less, and the various parts will be found as in Fig. II, and the bag securely tied.
The object of my invention is to expedite and render more easy the tying and untying of grain and other bags.
What I claim, is I The bag tie, constructed of the strap A, the plates B, or their equivalent, and provided with the openings e e e e, either with or without the eyelets, substantially as described, and to operate as set forth.
DANIEL B. HALL.
