IMPROVED MEDIGAL COMPOUND.

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, CARLOS JUDSON, of the villageof Omro, county of Winnebago, and State of lVisconsin, have invented a. new and improved Medicinal Compound, to be known as Young America. Bittersfi This compound isdesigned as a blood purifier, and may be used with great benefit as a. specific inrthe treatment of the various diseases arising from an impure state of the blood.
The ingredients are (an herb variously known and called gall of the earth and Indian ague--\veed; but for the purposes specified herein we will adopt) gull of the earth, tincture capsicum, oil sassafras, oil =cloves, loaf-sugar and Whiskey or other liquor to preserve; and is compounded as follows: Steep five ounces gall of the earth in four quarts of water until the strength of the herb is obtained. After filtering add sufficient water to make four quarts of-the tincture. To this add thirteen pounds loaf-sugar, and boil about fifteen minutes. Then mix one and a. half ounce oil of sassafras and two drachms oil of cloves in one gallon of whiskey or its equivalent. Thenadd two ounces tincture of capsicum. To the sirup composed of the gall of the earth andsuga'r, while hot, add the above mixture. Let it stand twenty-four hours, and the'compound is fit for bottling and for use.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The use of a medical compound combining the medicinal properties of the ingredients specified, mixed together in about the proportions and substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
