Be it known that I, C. K. MARSHALL, of Vicksburg, in the county of Warren, and State of Mississippi, have invented a new and usefui Improvement in the Construction of Wi-ndowBlinds; and 'I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will'ennble others skilled in the art to make and usc the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.

This improvement relates to a new article of manufacture, and consists in the construction of windowblinds with metallicslats. In the accompanying drawings- Figure l is a. front view of my improved window-blind, part of the frame being broken away to show the wood insertion in section.

A A is a hollow frame ofmetal, in which are set the slots B B, either at a certain angle or revolving upon pivots b, or on an axis, b, passing through them and securing into the frame A. A piece of wood, C, is inserted in the hollow of the frame A, es shown inthe drawing, fig. l, to enable the hinges D to be secured thereto'by the screws ci, liinging the blind to thesash in the. usuel manner. When the slats are pivoted they are operated by the rod E, connecting with the slats by the link e, und fastening by the pinf of the piece F into the plate G. When it is not desired that the slats should open and close the formcf an inverted V, shown in fig. 4, may be adopted. l

Having thus described my invention, what claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1.As a new article of mnnufncture,`^window-blinds formed of slats of metal set in n metallic` frame, in manner and for the purposessubstnntielly as described. Y

2. The hollow metal freine A, having the wooden blocks C to receive the screws d, securing tho hinges D, in manner and for the purposes substantially as herein shown and described.
