TO VALL WHOM IT' MAY. CONCERNI Be it known that I, WLLIAM T. FISER, of the county of'lRoane, and Stute of Tennessee, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shoemak'ers Tools and I do hereby declare the following to he a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being-had to accompanying sheets of drawings,and to'the letters of reference marked thereon, in which- Figure 1 is a plan view, with the pliers open, Figure 2 a plan showing them shut, and Figure 3 a'plan of 'one side ofthe pliers.

The object of this invention is to combine in one device several of themorc important tools u sed hy shoe-` makers, for'the purpose ofieconomy and convenience, ,and the nature oil it consists in sc constructing or forming the jaws of pliers, that upon either side of' the same there shnll be arpunch, eyelet-set, hammer, and nailcutter, or such lother ldevices as the peculiar construction of my improved tool Vwill suggest or admit of. To enabley others to make and use my invention, I will now describe its construction and operation.

' In the accompanying drawings,iAA represent the Shanks of' the pliers, the jaws of which I prefer to make straight, as seen in the drawings. Around the hole through which the rivet c enters, the sides or shanks A. A are madecircular. A little above the centre,'on one side ofeach of the parts, are the jaws or projections b b', and diagonally across, beneath the centre, are similar jaws'v or projections d d. Between the jaws b b and d d may be secured the eyelet-cutter gland setter h. At theY base of the jaws, the outters'are forinedI hy means of the grooves or slots a a,rbeing stepped so' as to have a` cutting and resisting surtace opposite to each other. The ends of the `jaws b and d may be flattened into a. hammer, andto and still further Y utility'tothe tool, a tack or nail-claw can he formed at' the end of one or both of -the handles. It, should be observed tha,t,thc inner circular part of' the sides A should he out away, so that when the two sides are I riveted together, they will beliiush with each other.'
