Be it known that I, JOHN F. SILVER, a citi-' zen of the. This invention relates to paint-bucket supports.

One object is to rovide a device for the support of paint-buc ets in such manner that thefbucket may rest evenly upon an inclined roo Another object resides in the provision of a support of the character stated embodying suc characteristics that paint-buckets may be supported against accidental tilting and invention.

With these and other objects in view the present invention consists in the combina tion and arrangement of parts, as will be hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings, and particularly pointed out in the appended claims, it being understood that changes in the form, proportion, size, and minor details may be made within the sec e of the claims without de-' parting from t e s irit or sacrificing any of the advantages of t e invention.

In the drawings, Figure 1 is a view of my Fig. 2 is a top plan view illustrating a paint-bucket su ported therein.- Fig. 3 is a sectional view through the band and one upwardly-directed end-of one of the bottom strips of the device aiid also through one of the legs, illustrat' the means whereby one leg may be adjuste vertically with respect to. the band.

Referring now more particularly to the accompanying drawings, the reference'character 1 designates a band of any suitable mateupwardly directed portions 4 terminate evenly with the upper edge of the band 1.

Legs 6 and 7 are secured to the outer face of the band 1 in any suitable manner, and each has its lower end 7 pointed, whereby the legs may engage firmly the material upon which the sup ort may rest. -A third'leg 8 is the same in orm and construction as the other legs, except that this third leg is provided with a slot 9, adapted to register with a slot 10, formed in the band 1, and the upwardly-directed part 4 of the stri 3', whereby this third leg may be adjuste vertically through the instrumentality of a bolt and nut 11 and 12, respectively, the bolt 11 Working through the said slots 9 and 10 and held fixedl by means of said nut. By means of the a jlustment of this third leg when painting a s anting surface the leg may be so adjusted as to dispose the band 1 positively upon a horizontal plane, and thereby ro erly supporting the'paint-bucket 13 with t e bottom of the atter in engagement with the upper faces of the strips 2 and 3.

rom the foregoing it is to be understood that the band 1 may be formed of a single piece of material, if -desired, and that paint ucketsmay be removably supported within my-improved support.

What is claimed 1s 1. A device of the character described comprising a band, strips arranged at a direct right angle to each other and each having its ends directed u wardl and secured to the outer face of said and w ereby the body ortion of each strip is disposed beneath the ower edge of said band, legs fixedly secured to the band, and another leg arranged for vertical adjustment with respect to the band.

2. A device of the character described comprising a band, strips arran ed at a right angle to each other and secure together at their point of intersection, each strip having its 0 posite end directed upwardly and se-. cure to the band, legs secured fixedly to the band and another leg arranged for vertical adjustment with respect to the band whereby the latter may be held horizontally upon uneven surfaces.
