The control unit 16 then directs the data concerning the food content to the printer 12 located in the cooking area. The printer 12 then provides a print-out of the food ordered. The cook in the cooking area can then act on the order.

  • the waitress then couples her unit 2 to the other saddle unit 10 and 8 and operate the downloading code on her unit 2.
  • the trigger button 2e is operated and the data stored in the unit 2 is downloaded into the control unit 16 via the saddle unit.

Abstract

Une variante du système est destinée à être utilisée dans des restaurants. Chaque garçon ou serveuse dispose d'une unité portative (2, 4, 6). Chaque unité (2, 4, 6) possède un clavier (2a, 4a, 6a), un écran d'affichage (2b, 4b, 6b) et une imprimante (2c, 4c, 6c). Grâce au clavier (2a, 4a, 6a) chaque garçon ou serveuse peut introduire les données relatives au repas et aux boissons commandés par un client. Ces informations peuvent être transférées ensuite vers une unité centrale de commande (16) qui distribue les données relatives aux boissons et au repas à des unités d'affichage séparées (12) et (14). Les données sont acheminées vers l'unité centrale de commande (16) à l'aide de coupleurs acoustiques (2d, 4d, 6d, 10d). A la fin du repas les unités (2, 4, 6) peuvent imprimer l'addition. Une des unités (6) peut faire office d'unité principale et stocker les transactions de toutes les unités (2, 4, 6) pour chaque jour ou semaine.
