Abstract

A stopper (4) for protecting the connecting hose (3) of a shower faucet (1) for use in a bathroom is disclosed, and the device includes a connecting hose (3) connected to the discharge hole (2) of a water faucet (1) which is buried into a wall and the like. The device further includes a stopper (4) which is installed to the connecting hose (3) in such a manner that, if the shower faucet (7) is pulled to the maximum length, the stopper (4) is contacted to a fixed tube (5), thereby preventing any further extension of the connecting hose (3). Thus, the connecting hose (3) is protected from being damaged, and its life expectancy is extended.

FOR USE IN BATH ROOM Field of the invention

The present invention relates to a stopper for protecting the connecting hose of the shower faucet, which is capable of length-adjusting and protecting the connecting hose when using the shower faucet connected to a burying type water faucet.

Background of the invention

In the coventional connecting hose connected to a shower faucet, the connecting hose is directly connected to the lower end of the shwoer faucet and to the distriburtion tube of ta burying type or exposing type water faucet, and therefore, not only the using distance of the shower faucet is limited, but also the connecting hose is lialbe to be torn or damaged after repeated uses. Furhter, in the case where the water faucet is installed in a buried form, a water proof effect can not be obtained, hereby requiring a re-installation of the water faucet, this being an economic disadvantage. Further, in the case where the connecting hose is a flexible type, the connecting hose can be torn or broken by being scratched by the distribution pipe of the projected portion, thereby causing an apprehension to the user.

Summary of the invention

The present invention is intended to overcome the aobve described disadvantages of the conventional devices. Therefore it is the. object of the present invention to provide a protecting stopper which is installed on the connecting hose of the shower faucet, so that the stopper should be able to protect the connecting hose when performing a shower, because the stopper then supports the lower end of a fixed tube. Brief description of the drawings The above object and other advantages of the present invention will become more apparent by describing in detail the preferred embodiment of the present invention with reference to the attached drawings in which: Figure 1 is a partially sectional view of the shower faucet, showing the critical portions of the device of the present invention;

Figure 2 illustrates a using state of the device of the present invention, showing the motion of the stopper; and Figure 3 illustrates an embodiment of the present invention, showing a state in which the water faucet and the shower faucet are connected each other. Description of the preferred embodiment

An ordinary connecting hose 3 is connected to a discharge hole 2 of a burying type water faucet 1, and a stopper 4 is installed in such a manner that, if the connecting hose 3 is pulled out to use it, then the stopper 4 should support the lower end of a fixed tube 5. The protecting stopper 4 either takes the form of a cylinder with upper and lower flanges formed thereon, or takes the form of a cube with a hole formed therethrough.

In the drawings, reference code 6 indicates a buying object into which the water faucet is buried. Reference code 7 indicates a shower faucet, 8 spraying holes, 9 a securing part, 10 a fixed member, and 11 an adjusting knob.

Under this condition, one end of the connecting hose 3 is secured to the discharge hole 2 of the water faucet 1 which is buried into the burying object 6, while the other end of the connecting hose 3 is pass through the fixed tube 5 and connected to the shower faucet 7. Therefore, if the shower faucet is pulled to use it, the stopper 4 is contacted to the lower end of the fixed tube 5, thereby stopping the connecting hose 3. That is, the state becomes as shown in Figure 1 , and the shower faucet 7 is an ordinary one which is bent at its upper portion, and has a plurality of water spraying holes 8. The securing tube 9 is inseted into the fixed member 10 in order to secure the shower faucet 7, and therefore, the connecting hose 3 which is fixed within the securing tube 9 extends into the burying object 6 to be connected to the discharge hole 2 of the water faucet 1. Further, the stopper 4 surrounds and secures the connecting hose 3, and therefore, the stopper 4 always protects the connecting hose 3 in a state secured to the connecting hose 3, thereby preventing any damage or detachment of the connecting hose. Thus, as illustrated in Figure 2, a shower or a face wash is performed in such a manner that the shower faucet 7 is pulled out. from the fixed member 10, the adjusting knob 11 is turned to properly combine the hot and cold waters, and then, the shower or the face wash is carried out. Here, if the shower faucet 7 is pulled out to the maximum length, the stopper 4 is contacted to the lower end of the fixed tube 5, thereby preventing any further extension of the connecting hose 3. That is, if the shower faucet 7 is pulled out from the fixed member 10, the connecting hose 3 and the stopper 4' are simultaneously moved until the stopper is abutted to the lower end of the fixed tube 5. Then the shower faucet 7 can no more be pulled out, and therefore, any damage and detachment of the^* connecting hose can be prevented, as well as extending the life expectancy of the connecting hose 3. According to the present invention as described above, the device of the present invention prevents the damage of the hose and extends the life expectancy of the hose, thereby improving the economic feature of the device.

Claims

What is claimed is :

1. A stopper for protecting the connecting hose of a shower faucet for use in a bath room, including : a connecting hose connected to the discharge hole of a burying type water faucet, the improvement comprising: a stopper installed to said connecting hose in such a manner that if the shower faucet is pulled to the maximum length, said stopper is contacted to the lower end of a fixed tube, thereby preventing any further extension of said connecting hose.

2. The stopper for protecting the connecting hose as claimed in claim 1, wherein said stopper takes a cylindrical form with upper and lower flanges formed thereon.

3. The stopper for protecting the connecting hose as claimed in claim 2, wherein said stopper takes a cubical form with a hole formed therethrough.
