Abstract

Electrolyte (40), composé d'une solution aqueuse d'un composé soluble de thallium ou de n'importe lequel des éléments de type alcali (hydrogène, deutérium, tritium, lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, césium, francium), et mis en contact avec une cathode annulaire poreuse (100) d'un mélange lié par fittage de poudre de nickel et de fibres de nickel pour catalyser des réactions de fusion nucléaire entre des noyaux d'hydrogène provenant de l'eau ordinaire, et des noyaux des éléments de type alcali dans le composé soluble. La génération de puissance thermique selon le processus de fusion à froid de Fleischmann-Pons est ainsi améliorée. Selon un mode préféré de réalisation, l'électrolyte se compose d'une solution de carbonate de sodium dans de l'eau ordinaire, et le processus de fusion à froid par transmutation nucléaire induite par résonance de transmission TRINT convertit le sodium en magnésium en réduisant le nombre total d'atomes d'hydrogène dans l'eau, et en produisant une quantité correspondante d'oxygène moléculaire.
