Abstract

A re-usable, unitary package for rubber, useful in particular for packaging, storing and transporting synthetic rubber, is composed of a flat pallet (1) with a continuous edge (5) and centering feet (4), and a fitted conical envelope (6) made of a single piece that tapers upwardly on all sides and is closed at the top by a lid (9). Two opposite lateral surfaces of the envelope are provided with recesses (8) arranged next to the upper periphery of the envelope. The envelope with its fitted lid may be pulled upwardly off the packaged goods by holding its recesses.

Description

Reusable packaging for rubber

Reusable packaging is used for the packaging, storage and transport of synthetic rubber, which is made up in the form of compacts. It can also be used for natural rubber. The reusable packaging can continue to be used wherever dimensionally stable transport goods require adequate protection against external influences during storage and transport.

Reusable metal packaging with vertical side walls attached to a rectangular base frame, which can be folded outwards and inwards, are known. These side walls are also only plugged in and can optionally be removed. The individual side walls are clamped together at the top by closures.

Another version is also designed so that the four vertical side walls can be pulled up together by a special complex lifting device, in order to then be able to remove the individual rubber compacts. Such reusable packaging can be folded up for return transport to save transport space.

An upwardly widening, lattice-like, one-piece reusable packaging for natural rubber is known which, for the purpose of stackability in the loaded state, additionally has mechanically movable auxiliary devices because of the taper, onto which further similar reusable packaging can be placed.

For unloading, this reusable packaging must be rotated by 180 ° using an additional device on a fork and the rubber must be deposited on an additionally provided pallet. So that the rubber does not fall out prematurely during the swiveling process, the packaging is closed at the top by means of a shrink film, which must be removed manually at the end of the swiveling process. Because of their taper, these empty reusable packaging can be stacked one inside the other for return transport. This version cannot be used for .flowable synthetic rubber. All these known reusable packagings have the disadvantage that they consist of various individual parts susceptible to faults, require a high production outlay and additional manual interventions on the packaging itself are necessary for filling and emptying. Removal of rubber residues before reuse is only possible with increased effort. To avoid the latter disadvantage, plastic films are sometimes inserted between the metal walls and the rubber, which must be disposed of.

The invention is based on the problem of achieving simple emptying and good stackability of the reusable packaging filled or emptied with product without additional manual operations or auxiliary devices, with space-saving return transport of the emptied reusable packaging being achieved. Furthermore, there is the problem of facilitating the cleaning of reusable packaging used and of increasing the shelf life with little production effort.

The problem is solved by a three-part reusable packaging consisting of a flat pallet with a closed bottom surface and a circumferential rim on the outer periphery of the pallet surface, with a one-piece, conical jacket placed thereon, tapering uniformly upwards to all sides on at least two opposing sides arranged immediately below the upper edge and a cover with securing elements.

The flat pallet has feet with centerings which overlap the outer edge of the upper circumference of a second reusable packaging, the feet resting on the upper circumference of this second reusable packaging.

The conical jacket is open on its upper and lower jacket circumference and has projections on at least two opposite side walls in the area of the outer lower jacket circumference, on which, when the empty coats are stacked one inside the other, their lower jacket circumference. supports and thus prevents jamming of the coats. To fill with rubber, the lid is removed and the compacts are inserted from above and the lid is placed, which is secured against sliding sideways. The filled reusable packaging can be stacked several times if necessary. The individual reusable packaging is secured against slipping by the centering on the feet of the flat pallet.

To remove the rubber, the conical jacket, including the lid, is lifted upwards by applying force to the recesses at the upper edge of the jacket. The rubber remains on the flat pallet and can be removed ergonomically. As a result of the upward tapering, the removal of the jacket which is under internal pressure due to the flowable synthetic rubber is favored. If necessary, the jacket can be put back on the flat pallet after partial removal of individual rubber compacts.

In order to save space and for return transport, the shells including the lid placed on them can be stacked one inside the other from the empty flat pallets.

The advantage of this reusable packaging is that all necessary manipulations for unpacking and stacking the shells can be carried out exclusively by means of conventional lifting devices without additional auxiliary devices and without the manual effort of additional auxiliary persons.

Further advantages of the reusable packaging according to the invention are that it does not contain any movable closure parts, is resistant to damage and, due to the smooth inner surfaces, cleaning is easily possible and can be automated with simple means.

The invention is to be illustrated using an example. 1 shows a reusable packaging as a unit consisting of a flat pallet, jacket and lid. FIG. 2 shows the stacking of empty jackets with lids on a flat pallet in a sectional view. The reusable packaging shown is made of stainless steel. The flat pallet 1 contains two longitudinal skids 2 for transport on a roller conveyor. The centering 3 on the feet 4 are 40 mm high. Through the circumferential rim 5 on the circumference of the flat pallet 1, the conical jacket 6 is guided laterally. The dimensions are 1280 mm in length, 1080 mm in width and 977 mm in height. The angle of inclination of all side surfaces of the jacket 6 is 3.26 degrees to the vertical. For stability against the internal pressure and because of the five times stackability in the product-filled state, the side walls are secured by 16 mm high all-round stiffeners 7.

A lower circumferential reinforcement 7 carries projections 10 on two opposite sides, on which the lower edges of the jacket sitting above are supported when empty jackets are stacked together. On the long sides of the jacket 6, two recesses 8 are made for the passage of the forks of a forklift.

Such reusable packaging can be filled with 750 kg of synthetic rubber, consisting of 30 compacts of 25 kg each. With a stack height of 2.30 m, five empty coats can be stacked one inside the other with the lid on. The projections 10 attached to the outer surfaces of the stiffeners 7 prevent the conical jackets from jamming into one another.

Reusable packaging for rubber as a unit from a flat pallet with feet arranged at least in the area of the corners, a jacket that encloses the packaging goods lying on the flat pallet on its circumference, the base area of the jacket and the base area of the flat pallet approximately matching and one the top cover surface of the cover, characterized in that

the flat pallet (1) has a closed base, the surface of which is delimited by a shelf (5),
