Definitions
- the invention relates to an attachment, in particular for the time-dependent deflection of an air flow, in particular a pulsator or the like, for a device for treating hair by means of the air flow, in particular for a hair dryer or the like, the device having a housing in which means for the detection Generation of the air flow are housed and which has an opening for the exit of the air flow, the front part having an inlet opening, in particular which can be coupled to the opening of the housing, and an outlet opening.
- Such a front part for a hair dryer is known for example from US Pat. No. 4,132,360.
- the front part is designed as a short tube, inside of which a propeller-like wing is mounted.
- the axis of rotation is arranged in the longitudinal direction of the tube and thus the air flow of the hair dryer, and the wing is oriented at an angle of approximately 70 degrees to this longitudinal direction.
- the hair dryer is switched on, the air flow flows through the front part and sets the wing in rotation. In this way, the air flow is deflected in a rotating manner and an air flow that is pulsating for the user is created.
- pulsation should in particular be understood to mean essentially a time-variable deflection or a time-controlled, at least partial interruption of the air flow emerging from the hair dryer.
- the object of the invention is to provide a front part with which a pulsating air flow can be generated, but the front part is designed to be as simple as possible with regard to manufacture and assembly.
- this object is essentially achieved in that, in the case of an attachment part of the type mentioned at the outset, means for limiting an interior space are provided between the inlet opening and the outlet opening of the attachment part, through which the air flow can flow, an essentially freely movable, in particular approximately spherical body is caught.
- the spherical body provided according to the invention does not require any special bearings in the front part. No effort is required for such bearings.
- the manufacture and assembly of the front part is much simpler, requires less material and is therefore cheaper overall.
- This movement causes a deflection of the air flow, so that a time-dependent variable air flow acts on the user.
- a time-dependent variable air flow acts on the user.
- Such an air flow has the advantage, among other things, that the hair to be treated is loosened and can thus be dried more quickly by the air flow.
- the invention thus provides a front part for a hair dryer, with which a time-variable air flow can be generated without this requiring a special mounting of a component.
- the interior is designed in such a way that the body in the interior can be made to move in an approximately circular path by the air flow, the plane formed by the circular path being arranged approximately transversely to the direction of the air flow. Due to the circular movement of the spherical body, a temporally rotating displacement of the air flow is achieved when the hair dryer is switched on. This is perceived by the user as pleasant and also increases the effect of the air flow on the hair to be treated, in particular with regard to a more uniform loosening and faster drying of the hair.
- the interior is approximately rotationally symmetrical, the axis of symmetry being arranged essentially in the direction of the air flow. In this way, the circular movement of the spherical body is promoted. Furthermore, the rotationally symmetrical design of the interior has manufacturing advantages.
- the interior is delimited by a grid or the like which is permeable to the air flow and which, starting from the outlet opening, projects into the interior, in particular approximately hemispherically.
- the interior is limited by the grille in such a way that the spherical body is set in motion even at a low flow velocity of the air flow.
- the air permeability of the grille largely prevents the air flow from being significantly impeded by the grille.
- the hemispherical design of the lattice favors that the air flow causes the body to move in a circular path.
- the grille is displaceable in the direction of the air flow or the two half-shells of the front part.
- the diameter of the circular movement of the spherical body can thereby be reduced or enlarged. This results in an increase or decrease in the rotational speed of the body in the interior of the front part. For the user, this means that he can set a faster or slower pulsation of the air flow by moving the grille.
- the interior is delimited by webs or the like which are permeable to the air flow, in particular in the form of a circular ring, and which are arranged in the region of the inlet opening approximately transversely to the direction of the air flow.
- the webs ensure that the spherical body is securely caught in the interior and cannot easily fall out.
- the air permeability of the webs prevents the air flow from being hindered.
- the interior is delimited by two, in particular approximately frustoconical or bell-shaped or trumpet-shaped, curved shells, which are connected to one another in particular by their larger circumferences.
- the shells ensure a rotationally symmetrical design of the interior and thus simply effect the circular path-shaped movement of the spherical body which has already been explained.
- the bowls are simple manufacture and also have advantages in terms of the design of the front part. A further cost saving can be achieved in that the two shells are identical.
- the means for delimiting the interior are made of transparent material, for example of transparent plastic, and / or the spherical body is colored, in particular by means of thermochromic lacquers.
- the rotation of the spherical body in the interior of the front part is made visible to the user in this way. This simplifies operation and understanding of the function of the front part for the user, for example with regard to the setting of the pulsation frequency of the air flow.
- a thermochromic paint for the spherical body leads to a pleasing appearance of the front part, the main advantage of such a paint being the possibility of displaying the temperature with regard to the hot air escaping, which can signal a particularly gentle drying temperature, for example.
- the invention can be implemented in two ways. On the one hand, it is possible that the opening of the housing and the inlet opening of the front part form one piece or are permanently connected to one another. The pulsator is therefore firmly integrated in the hair dryer. On the other hand, it is possible for the opening of the housing and the inlet opening of the front part to be connected to one another in a separable manner, for example by means of a bayonet catch or the like. This means that the front part can be separated from the housing as required. The pulsator can be removed from the hair dryer and the hair dryer can therefore also be operated without the pulsator.
- the pulsator shown in the figure is designed in the form of a front part 1, which can be coupled with a hair dryer.
- the hair dryer has a housing in which means for generating an air stream 2 are accommodated, in particular an electrically driven fan.
- the air stream 2 exits the housing of the hair dryer through a circular opening, the opening being provided with means for coupling to the front part 1.
- the front part 1 is approximately tubular and has an inlet opening 3 and an outlet opening 4 on its end faces.
- the inlet opening 3 is provided with a bayonet lock 5 for coupling to the opening of the housing.
- the attachment 1 is firmly connected to the hairdryer by means of the bayonet catch 5.
- the air stream 2 emerging from the opening of the hair dryer thus enters the front part 1 through the inlet opening 3, flows through the front part 1 in its longitudinal direction and leaves the front part 1 through the outlet opening 4.
- the attachment part 1 contains means for delimiting an interior space 6. These means include two shells 7, 8, a grille 9 and webs 10. The means are designed such that the interior space 6 is aligned with the longitudinal direction of the attachment portion 1 and thus with the direction of the air flow 2 is rotationally symmetrical.
- the shells 7, 8 are frustoconical. Their diameter thus increases or decreases in the direction of the air flow 2. With their larger diameters, the two shells 7, 8 are firmly connected to one another. The smaller diameter of the shell 7 forms the inlet opening 3 and is provided with the bayonet lock 5. The smaller diameter of the shell 8 forms the outlet opening 4 of the front part 1.
- the shells are made in particular from heat-resistant plastic and can also be transparent.
- the grid 9 is hemispherical and extends from the outlet opening 4 into the interior 6 of the front part 1.
- the grid 9 is permeable to air and the hemispherical shape of the grid 9 has a diameter which corresponds approximately to the smaller diameter of the shell 8.
- the grid 9 is held in an annular holding part 1 1, the diameter of which also corresponds approximately to the smaller diameter of the shell 8.
- the holding part 11 is arranged in the area of the outlet opening 4 of the front part 1 in the direction of the air flow 2. In this way, the grille 9 can also be moved in the longitudinal direction of the front part 1 and thus in the direction of the air flow 2. This is identified in the figure by the reference number 12.
- the webs 10 are arranged in the region of the inlet opening 3 approximately transversely to the direction of the air flow 2.
- the webs 10 are spaced apart so that the air flow 2 can pass through. They are designed as a circular ring in such a way that an opening remains for the unimpeded passage of the air stream 2.
- the webs 10 can consist of flexible material. However, the webs 10 can also be arranged pointing radially to the central axis, in particular diametrically to one another, with the circular ring being dispensed with in individual cases.
- the webs 10 can consist of flexible material, the body 13, for example by means of a tool, for. B. a stamp or the like., Or can be introduced into the interior 6 by hand.
- the body 13 has a diameter which corresponds approximately to the distance between the grid 9 and the webs 10.
- the diameter of the body 13 is larger than the opening left free by the webs 10.
- the body 13 consists of a material that is as light and heat-resistant as possible, for example of plastic.
- the body 13 can be designed in color, in particular with the aid of thermochromic lacquers, the color of which changes as a function of the temperature.
- the body 13 is freely movable in the interior 6.
- the freedom of movement of the body 13 is limited only by the shells 7, 8, the grid 9 and the webs 10.
- the body 13 touches the grid 9 at a point 14 and the shell 7 at a point 15.
- the air flow 2 acts on the body 13.
- the result of this is that the body 13 is set into a circular path-shaped movement.
- This movement is essentially determined by the grid 9 and the shell 7.
- the points of contact of the body 13 with the grating 9 and the shell 7 each form a circle through the points 14 and 15, the plane formed by the circles and thus also the plane formed by the circular movement of the body 13 approximately transversely to the direction of the air flow 2 is arranged.
- the air flow 2 entering through the inlet opening 3 is thus deflected by the body 13. Due to the circular movement of the body 13 in the interior 6 of the front part 1, the air flow 2 is deflected in a rotation-like and thus pulsating manner.
- the speed of the circular movement of the spherical body 13 in the interior 6 of the front part 1 depends in particular on the dimensioning of the hemispherical grille 9 and on the strength of the air flow 2.
- the air flow 2 in the hair dryer is usually by a rotating fan is generated, the air flow 2 does not flow in a straight line into the front part 1, but has at least a slightly twisty or screw-like movement. This has the result that the spherical body 13 in the front part 1 is pushed by the air flow 2 to the circular motion described when the hair dryer is switched on.
- the pulsator and the hair dryer represent two objects which are independent of one another and which can be coupled or separated from one another with the aid of the bayonet catch.
- the invention can also be implemented in that the pulsator and the hair dryer are formed in one piece, that is to say cannot be separated from one another.
