  • the tooth sharpening files which, in the foregoing, have been described as round files 14, need not necessarily be of a round cross- section, provided that they axe of an appropriate shape in the region of interaction with the teeth.
  • each of the swan-neck stalks 30 may be provided with a flat file 32 aligned parallel to the round file 14 and attached to a spur-shaped stalk 34 projecting from the rear of the stalk 30 as illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2.

Abstract

Les utilisateurs de scies entraînées par un moteur, avec des supports sans fin pour les dents, savent que ces dents doivent être limées plutôt souvent pour que la scie continue à bien couper. On connaît des dispositifs auxiliaires pour faciliter le travail de limage et également pour ajuster la direction du limage, qui doit former un certain angle avec la direction transversale des dents. Souvent, avec les dispositifs auxiliaires connus, on lime une dent immobilisée d'une manière temporaire à la fois, ce qui rend le travail de limage long et difficile. L'invention concerne un principe et un appareil entièrement nouveaux pour limer d'une manière continue les dents (18) d'une scie à couper à lame continue (7): on effectue le limage à l'aide de limes (14) déplacées avec un mouvement dans une direction en étant engagées avec les dents (18) déplacées suivant la longueur de la lame de chaîne (7), ladite lime (14) étant tenue dans une position oblique souhaitée par rapport à la dent pour limer cette dernière avec l'angle de coupe souhaité (v) en étant déplacée dans une direction oblique par rapport à la lame de chaîne, de sorte que la lime (14), durant le mouvement de la chaîne, va effectuer un mouvement purement longitudinal par rapport à la dent.
